I never set FOV more than 77, more than that it is hard to play on 21,5 inch screen at least it is my feeling. Seat max set to back. I don't use the mouse, only controller as I prefer to play that game on controller.
I fully agree. For that reason, I mostly drive the Kenworth. I understand that SCS is using some blueprints for the trucks but it seems they could cheat a little on the left mirrors. And why are the left mirrors on the Kenworth usable but not on any other truck?

These trucks are modeled just fine, move your head like you would in real life..
You've got a good point, but I find moving my view with the mouse is very disorienting and of course I don't have VR. I agree with the others that the visibility is poor and that's why I mostly drive the Kenworth.
There are several buses in OMSI2 that I likewise avoid driving where possible (Solaris Urbino, Mercedes Citaro) because what would be a quick sideward glance to the mirror when pulling away from a stop or changing lanes is two or three key presses to change the camera over to the mirror and then reset it to straight ahead.
MACK has done a good job with this, but, SCS will have no choice, as getting a licence means getting the model spot on..
I mean, I get where everyone is coming from, I have 3 monitors, but don't always have them spanned to 5760 x 1080, so, I use the mouse to look left and right, and I have a button on my G27 that will centre my view after using the mouse. to look..
After all, when driving these trucks, how many of us actually use 2 hands on the wheel?
Maybe if you have a modded wheel, that has a full size wheel, you might use 2 hands..

My living environment is europe, and i am truck driver, and here they try to get the mirrors as close to the cabin as possible.
Of course you see very few american trucks here, adjusted in size and length for shows. but as the mack has its mirrors out, it shouldn't even be here.
Has to do with safety, protruding parts, width is more than 2.50 meters. what is allowed here.
but also with safety for yourself, namely at the moment that your head has to go left to be able to (have to) look clearly in the mirror, that is too far one no longer sees from the front, and of course here we have no nose, but cabover trucks.
And now you also have a big dead viewpoint.
Plus that one tries to economically place the mirrors, to reduce consumption of diesel.
When you look at the new mercedes truck. 2020 you see that there are no more mirrors outside,
but with cameras left right, with monitors inside the cabin. the left is right in front of you, so that you keep your view to the front and still see the left side.
I am lucky enough to be able to drive it 4 days a week. in the beginning it takes a lot of getting used to. But you see more, without many head movements.
Reduces driver fatigue.
