First off, what even is it? Can we play MP with it?

BUt seriously, why cant I connect them both? Its the same account, 2 different games....

It tracks the statistics for external jobs that you are doing in the game, the jobs are in real time (not game time), you can't visit repair shops or teleport, and the speed is limited like in real life.

Yeah, only reason I dont bother trying to play it, is I have plenty of experience with online games as it is and players tend to be atrocious. I watched some of the online trucking mod on youtube once. JUst looked like a bunch of dipsticks in trucks, who have no idea whats goin on, flyin around like banshees. Looked more like a game of Rock em sock em big rigs, rather than an Online trucking game world. I dont feel like being blind sided and run off the road, rammed into and all that jazz. As pretty awesome as a MP trucking world would be, I just dont trust players......

The only reason to use World of Trucks, in my opinion, is for the events so you can get ingame items. Other than that just stick to the ingame freight/cargo market.

Also be careful when using map mods and taking external (WoT) contracts. You could unknowingly pick up a job and not be able to take the load, or worse yet deliver to somewhere and can't drop the load off. So before doing any of those contracts travel to one of your garages and disable your map mods if you ever get around to using any.

Sure you get a tw@t now and then, but if you stay away from the busy areas like rotterdam and CD road it's great, your loss.

And the convoys they have every year are amazing, hundreds of players , nothing can come close to it, telling people it's very bad is pure ignorance.

WoT is entirely optional, you can play ATS or ETS2 to your heart's delight without ever installing it and get all the fun of ATS.
It does add the community events and rewards and keeps track of those external jobs, with or without your own trailer as well as WoT achievements and rewards.
If you have problems registering both game, email the support team, they are very helpful, they transferred my separate ATS into my old-standing ETS2 account and now they run side-by-side quite happily.

You better go and look at the meaning of the word.

What kind of ingame items? Ones beyond what are in the shop? Also, why would I not be able to take the load or drop it off? Are the contracts player made and put in weird areas? I currently dont use any map mods, only a sound and realistic roads mod. I also dont have Utah or New Mexico DLCs.

Because you get your jobs from the World of Trucks server and it can only synchronize positions with the original map.

There are exclusive rewards for completing certain community events, I got 6 Christmas tree cabin decorations for the Christmas Gifts event, a Honey Bee hanging item for early adopter of Utah, and many others going back years.
The problem with maps mods is that the game and WoT doesn't recognise them, it will only give deliveries on the outside contract list to and from places on the standard and DLC game maps.
If you are missing DLC, you won't get jobs there.
