Way to loud

Is it me or since FMOD was intoduced the volume ingame is way to loud now. Ive turned all my volumes way low and still the engine sound is just to loud. This is on a 5.1 speaker system and also my headset. On headset i cant even play the game at all cos it would deafen me

Have you turned down the master volume?

Turn down game's master volume, MS Windows master volume, and master volume tuning button on your speaker or headset, if any.

If all of those still won't work, keep that speaker/headset out miles away from your ears.

Audio is fairly balanced, but some trucks are louder than other and the train sounds destroy my ears every time one comes by

I wouldnt call it fairly balanced at all. i lowed all settings to really low my speaker vol to 30 and it was still to loud. FMOD is just ♥♥♥♥.

My guess would be you have additional gain somewhere else in the chain; whether it is through Windows audio settings or through your headset. I have no problems with volume levels being too high and am running in game settings higher than your screenshot; regardless of whether I am listening on my monitor speakers or through my 5.1 setup I am not seeing this problem.

I have no additional gains though. All my other games run fine though my headset and my 5,1 but ATS just runs way to loud. ive even turned my windows volume down to 20 and it was still way to loud. On my 5.1 i dont mine it being loud as its through my speakers but on my headset when im on chat with my friends in discord i cant even hear them speak.

There must be something going on there; if this was an issue with the game there would be widespread complaints in both ATS and ETS2 as they have the same API settings in FMOD for both titles. I have only seen one other complaint similar to yours.

Doesn't make sense, turn down the master volume if it's too loud?
