Opinion: ATS should be scaled larger
Trucking in this game is a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but the map is just too small. Yes it takes hours to drive from one extremity of the 1:20 scale map to the other but that isn't the point. I hate the sudden changes to speed, no warnings, tiny on and off ramps when they are very long IRL, the trucks are full sized but their environment doesn't quite fit them. I understand that the scale is small to permit a player to see lots of scenery in less playtime yet I think the squished roads take away from the gameplay. A possible 1:10 or bigger map would yield much larger slow down times for turns and ample time for passes on straight stretches of road, it would give SCS the opportunity to put much larger on and off ramps without them interfering with one-another. What do you guys think? Happy Trucking!

There are mods for 1:1 maps, if you are interested.

It took a minimum of 6 months to rescale the map to the current scale. Once we head further East, I feel like this scale will already be a tad too large. I don't think SCS should spend more time developing maps at a larger scale. Leave that to the modders.

In a perfect world we'd all get whatever we wanted. As Reese said, priorities.

Cat scales are 65 Ft scales in length. Typical of the Cat Scales IRL.

seems good enough to me, a 1000 miles delivery still takes a while

Think the scale is OK I tried 1.1 scale no thanks. What I would like to see fixed up in the maps is a lot of the little thinks that have been there since day one. I am talking about Garage size, load area sizes, pick and delivery. Now SCS has officially adopted doubles and Triples. need I say more, just the tip of the ice burg of little things.

I do think they should improve the trees graphics, especially those 2d billboard bushes

Map scale does have a lot to do with that...:lunar2019smilingpig:

I know it doesnt, .....I just thought I should mention it, lol
length seems fine to me but the ramps do seem small and filter lanes for left turns are too short. speed 65, then in a flash 30 and back up makes little sense, not lifelike but not spoiling the game just more challenging. 10-4 good buddy

The map scale won't be getting any bigger than what it is now.

The time it would take to re-scale the current map and the time it would take for the release of any future states would make it uneconomical. I remember what it was like playing the game in the old scale and it is far better now than it was back then. It is much more important to release more states more quickly than to waste time on a re-scale.

yea, Iam sure they would of made it larger scale when they originally increased it
