Walk Mode Is Dissapointing.
Because I can't stop my truck, like at a rest stop get out and look around D=

Edit: Ok, I get it the maps are not made to walk around in, I'm not asking for total free roam. more like get out. move a little. like get out to pump gas, or somethign. like a limit to how far you can move from the tuck.

Meh. I never even expected being able to walk around. Still don't know if I want the feature to stay or not. I'd like to see walking made possible at certain locations, for example those stops where the signs are in the upcoming Idaho that SCS teased the other week. That way we can get up close to the signage and read it. That would be neat.

It is a start. What you want requires a major overhaul of the game.

It is the problem that I posed "in the discussion (WALK MODE?)" ... in my opinion it is undoubtedly a possibility that should be extended to other situations and not only to the mechanical workshop.
This is the official statement to walk around from SCS blog
Another addition you might have spotted in a recent social media teaser is the "walk-around feature." Our game world is generally not designed for exploration on foot

Yes, I had read this news from the SCS, it is true they communicated that the game is not predisposed to the WALK-AROUND functionality, but it is also true that until not long ago it was not activated even in the mechanical workshop and instead now Obviously I don't know what technical problems must be faced to be able to activate this kind of functionality in other parts of the game, I am a simple player who can only make proposals aimed at improving the game and maybe the SCS developers who they are wonderfully good, as they managed to activate this feature in the workshop, they could manage to activate it, with the necessary changes also to other places in the game. (I believe, among other things, if I have not misunderstood, in the IDAHO DLC something similar is foreseen, in fact I believe that along the roads of that state you will be able to meet signs with historical-tourist information that we will have the opportunity to read; therefore something very similar and to be able to observe a scenario of particular beauty from a panoramic point.)

the walk mode was made for the dealer/garage not while driving
They don't want to enable the walk mode on the map for two main reasons; you can already simulate this view with the fly cam and because of the design of the map, people could walk off the edges, which would certainly ensue in many more whine filled threads.

It is a drving sim, not Walkabout Simulator.

It's just a camera, anyway. Not like there's a body walking around.

I love how they add a feature and people immediately complain that it isn't good enough.
Robinicus, I am aware that many think like you ATS and ETS are only driving simulators, ... I don't think so, I don't agree, yes the simulation aspect is prevalent, but there is also more in the gameplay of these games, for example there is the management part both business and economic, which is not directly connected to the guide, and then the SCS takes great care of the graphic aspect with fantastic and very realistic scenarios and landscapes, this makes you understand that they themselves also enhance other aspects of the game not only that strictly connected to the guide ..... (I have already said it and I repeat it in the next DLC that of IDAHO are provided, positioned in strategic places signs with historical and tourist information that we players could read, this also tells you that the developers do not consider only the simulation aspect of the game but that they are also attentive to other aspects of the gameplay) and considering this, I do not see why it cannot be inserted (the n this driving simulation game) the WALK-MODE in particular suggestive places (obviously if it is technically possible), this will have to be the developers to evaluate it we can't do it neither you nor we, we can only propose ideas, a form of collaboration the game developers ask you.

I must be missing what you guys are asking for; you can get out and go wherever you want now in 1st person view with the fly cam. Are you asking for an animated 3D model of the driver actually walking that you can view in 3rd person view or something?

I know my answer on if it is point #2...I want those resources working on improvement/additional animation and modeling of game content.
No, no, I don't want the truck driver to get off the truck and like a madman to go around the countryside aimlessly, I didn't mean this, I simply meant, to be able to use the walk-mode functionality that can currently be activated in the workshop by clicking on the icon with your feet, to be able to use it on other particular occasions too, for example when we stop or pass near a panoramic point of particular beauty with our truck, for example the Grand Canyon, to be able to stop for a moment activate the Walk-mode function get off the truck, go to the beautiful see observing the view and then resume our journey to go and deliver the goods, all here, I realize that it has nothing to do with the driving simulation, but also being able to have the possibility of being able using this option could be nice .... so if nothing else our truck driver has the opportunity to take a little break and move his legs a bit by taking two steps. (I hope to be s sufficiently clear, a small option that could be nice, that's all.
