[Solved] Unable To Assign General Truck Functions To Gamepad

Hello,

I've been used to successfully assign a lot of functions to my xbox controller since Euro Truck Simulator 2 (you know, for example, start engine, horn, left indicator, right indicator, e.t.c).

In Euro Truck simulator 2 I used to go to "keyboard" and bind gamepad buttons to different functions there, but now that doesn't work at all. I have no idea how to bind the rest of my gamepad buttons. Right now my gamepad can only do basic stuff like camera and truck control.

Does anyone know what is happening and if there's something one can do about this to fix this situation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just bought the game and this is a big problem for me. I will even ask for a refund if there's no practical solution.

Edit: Solved with the help from the user Jackrabbit_V6. The solution is to change the controller option in-game to X-input and reassign the keys (works perfectly in the alternative section) using the gamepad buttons we want to bind.

euh steam itself is upgraded has also something to do with controllers and ats is upgraded also... a solution i dont have maybe check on what steam has updated ?

Sorry, I didn't understand what you mean with all that. My problem is with the lack of options when it comes to binding buttons to my gamepad (a standard xbox 360 gamepad).

oh well the game aint designed for standard use of xbox or ps controllers have tried both myself ... pff big frustrating for me .... i use keyboard and mouse works great for me better then xbox or ps controller

This is so weird considering how it's a fully suported feature in ETS2. I'll keep waiting for someone to help until the end of the day. If there's nothing I can do, I'll unfortunately just ask for a refund and maybe buy the game again when it's fully functional.

in controller options... see if you can find the generic "direct-input-gamepad" option (on top where you normally select "xbox controller") ...try that one, i had the same problem, now it works as usual
