Others may know better. I for one would really like to see an easy way to make custom paint jobs eventually, but I guess this is not a suggestion thread.

The only other way is a mod.. but you also have to have the switch -force_mods present in the launch options for the game. This is because some sounds/images are loaded before the profile is loaded.
The avatar shows up in game on the next sync with WoC. I just did it last night.
I can't remember what it was, but something about editting a picture and saving it as a jpeg didn't show up right in the game. I remember .png was the only way to get it looking like hired drivers with the truck in the background. Something about how jpeg flattens the picture basically giving it a white background instead of a blank background...if that makes sense.
