Money
I feel like i have too much money in this game.

is it possible to (without mods) increase fuel prices or increase the penalty for abandoning a job?

Unless you play solo without hired drivers, you would need to mod economy values related to hired drivers as their income and maintenance cost per distance are hard-coded and do not get affected by g_income_factor resulting in consistent losses

Not sure if it is possible.? Interested in the replies to your post. Take some one more techy to answer your question. Wish SCS had a option for difficult level when starting a new profile. If properly done.

Im sure there is a way to edit the files to do so but a mod from the workshop would be the easiest way to do so. One search, none click and thats it

You could edit the files but then Steam and/or the game would reject them as they wouldn't be the original files. You could edit a copy of those files, Steam wouldn't have any issue with that and the game would be none the wiser when overwriting its original files with those copies. Now, if you were to bundle those copies in a specific folder, well ... Congratulations, you created a mod.

TL;DR: you can't edit the files.

You can scale your payrate.

In the console (or edit the profile level config.cfg) use the 'g_income_factor' scalar to adjust your payrate.

Before 1.32 I used to use a value of 0.2 but the economy changes in the latest version has me pushing it up to around 0.35.

Be aware, it affects your drivers as well so if you have any then be warned that they'll be costing you money until they get well up into the higher levels if you set this too low (at 0.2 my drivers were still costing me money until they hit about level 7 or more).

Also, if you set it too low you'll have a lot of trouble repaying bank loans if you have (or decide to take) any.

So setting it at 0,1 will make me lose money till I'm at an acceptable level?

Why would you want to have less money? The object is to get money. Buy some trucks, trailers, garages, and hire some drivers, Yes there's a point where all garages will be bought and maxed out on drivers, but why would you want to pay higher fuel prices, penalties, etc.? Just create a new profile and start at 0 then

objective of this game is to have fun trucking. having 20 million+ is unnecessary

You can decrease job payout without mod, but not fuel prices or penalties

Stop looking at your bank account & play the game.

Eh, for a simulator, it is very light on the economy and I would think that would be a big part of owning your own company. I wish it were more realistic as getting paid $100k for a single load is beyond ridiculous. I know it makes it easy and fun, but I own all the garages and have all the driver and truck slots full for all but 3 of the garages (the other three are my truck storage) and now the economy is something I don't even think about. Early in the game, you have to get a loan, and are perpetually paying payments for the first few levels and big mistakes could cost you. A few levels in and you get to where your drivers are making enough money to just sit around and do nothing but buy trucks and trailers. It would be nice if there were more of a challenge to the company side of things than just at the very start.

yeah..but thats in the .ssi profile settings that best left to the PC gurus as you may MESS UP the game and have to "Reinstall" it if you currupt it.....

ask a MOD maker to put it on their "TO DO" list..ok?
Rookie-31st Nov 13, 2018 @ 12:51pm
He clearly asked for solution 'without mods'
The only way to affect finances without mod is to use console command g_income_factor to reduce job payout
