Very difficult to drive ingame.
I like challenges and all but Don't you think some of it is just... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ly impossible? My truck has a long nose and has a sleeper why the hell would you make a parking space soo small for trucks to park and pickup cargo? and include a shed in the way making it even harder if not. Impossible. AND Trailers sticking out making it even more harder
I'm gonna list some things i have a lot of trouble with.

Judging distances from the front of my truck/grille
Using my mirrors. It's too hard to see anything in them their almost useless even when zooming in that isn't enough you can't see where your trailer is gonna go or where it is
Is the clutch broken? I fully depressed that pedal I'm using T3PA 3-pedal from my TX Leather edtion setup. and my TH8A shifter and i still manage to grind gears. "explanation" I push the clutch fully down wait 2 seconds put it in gear and release and it still grinds?
Company places are awfully small and tight
Trailer not going where it's supposed to go while turning **Probably too used to ETS 2 Trucks/physics**
Parking in the dark. Where are the reverse lights? i barely even notice them let alone in my mirrors
Brakes seem insanely touchy even with low brake settings

It feels like i need a driving instuctor lol I have so many questions and have alot of trouble in this game even after 190 hours it feels like i need help from a person whos more experienced then me

I drive pretty decently good in ETS 2 though

My Driving Setup.
Thrustmaster TX Leather Edtion
TH8A 7-8 speed shifter
Next level racing stand elite

Thanks in advance and support

Get shorter truck, duty cab

I think you're just expecting the same behavior as in ETS2. I personally do not have trouble with any parking location using a vanilla profile. Using mods is another story. There are some very tight locations in the game, sure, but none are impossible. In fact, if you find one that seems impossible, feel free to post it. Many people love to try them out as challenges and try to get it in one try.

It did take me a while to get used to ATS physics coming from ETS2, but I can not for the life of me drive ETS2 trucks in ATS without crashing. I've gotten so used to driving vehicles(both in game and real life) with long front ends. Having only ever owned mid-full-sized pickup trucks, long front ends and beds are real easy for me to figure out the size of. My mothers little Korean car is the hardest thing I've ever driven because I can't tell the size of it(sitting low and forward). I feel like you're having the same problem, but reversed.

Good luck with future driving.

Doesn't matter what truck I drive to be honest.

Thanks.

Yeah mostly 70% of my problems are in the company parking things and entrys of some places and how its laid out. I'll take a screenshot tommorow of them.
Honestly I find parking a semi truck (with no trailer) easier to park then a little tiny car. You can never see anything behind you and the mirrors are sometimes trash or very limited. Pickup trucks are much more easier since the mirrors are properly placed and adjustable and how you can see better around you and be able to see how close you are / distances around your pickup. etc

Maybe I just need more practice not start off with a large truck with a sleeper lol and learn properly

You can use the 3 key to see where you're backin when close to the parking/unloading spot, or your 2 key for an outside using your mouse to see where you're at. You can always look out the driver's side window to the rear to back up too. If you're restricting yourself for the sake of realism, then that's on you.

The reverse lights are a joke, but so are irl reverse lights. They aren´t there for you to see where you are going, they´re there for others to see you.
Real trucks has extra mounted work/reverse lights to make it easier for them.

When it comes to reversing, the key is to "visualize" a track you need to follow for the trailer to end up where you want it. Then keep ther trailer on that track as you reverse.
The nature of american trucks and trailers is that they are longer and has more inertia (slower to react) than euro trucks, that means you need to start your turn earlier than you otherwise would, just as you need to make wider turns at intersections.

Nice job

When I switched from a cab-over ('84 Freightliner) to a hood ('85 Peterbilt 359) it was a real challenge irl. As others have mentioned, it just takes time. Plan your route, take your time and learn the physics of the rig. It comes together eventually. Bonus for you: errors don't cost a career :p

ETS2 parking is child's play compared to ATS. Everytime I switch from ETS2 to ATS I find myself cursing at the screen the first couple of parking attempts. I just takes time adjusting to the longer wheel bases as well as the tighter parking spots. In the end it all comes down to trusting the process of practise. Sooner or later you'll simply 'get it' and wonder why it was all such a big deal.

Congrats! Good practise for the next one :)
it´s all possible... don´t compare it to ETS2, that´s pretty much beginner level compared to ATS, but i have yet to find one spot that would not be rather easy with some experience... hell, try some of the heavy cargo trailers backwards in a small spot... works too... you just have to plan ahead alot and drive SLOW and and use the steering wheel accordingly :)

ikr? and the other way round, if i have played ATS for a few weeks and get to ETS2, it feels like i´m driving a toy car, they feel so light :D

Today was the first time I used a personal trailer. I use a G27, have several hours in ETS2 and ATS. Can back up trailers no problem from the cab, usually. With a full size rig.

So what do I do? Well I go all out and purchase a 53' trailer, not sure where the axle should be so I picked the one with the forward axle. In-game it just felt a bit too long for me! Quite a challenge indeed. I downgraded to a 48' which makes quite a difference.

Parking spots and roads are ridiculously large in this game. Maybe this just isn't the type of game you should purchase.

I tried a 53 feet 3 axle personal trailer right off the bat and it's safe to say.... If it was IRL it would be a flatbed by now. lol

Parking is harder in ATS but once on the road I can go 60mph instead of like ETS2 60km in the outside lane.
