It did take me a while to get used to ATS physics coming from ETS2, but I can not for the life of me drive ETS2 trucks in ATS without crashing. I've gotten so used to driving vehicles(both in game and real life) with long front ends. Having only ever owned mid-full-sized pickup trucks, long front ends and beds are real easy for me to figure out the size of. My mothers little Korean car is the hardest thing I've ever driven because I can't tell the size of it(sitting low and forward). I feel like you're having the same problem, but reversed.
Good luck with future driving.
Thanks.
Yeah mostly 70% of my problems are in the company parking things and entrys of some places and how its laid out. I'll take a screenshot tommorow of them.
Honestly I find parking a semi truck (with no trailer) easier to park then a little tiny car. You can never see anything behind you and the mirrors are sometimes trash or very limited. Pickup trucks are much more easier since the mirrors are properly placed and adjustable and how you can see better around you and be able to see how close you are / distances around your pickup. etc
Maybe I just need more practice not start off with a large truck with a sleeper lol and learn properly
Real trucks has extra mounted work/reverse lights to make it easier for them.
When it comes to reversing, the key is to "visualize" a track you need to follow for the trailer to end up where you want it. Then keep ther trailer on that track as you reverse.
The nature of american trucks and trailers is that they are longer and has more inertia (slower to react) than euro trucks, that means you need to start your turn earlier than you otherwise would, just as you need to make wider turns at intersections.
Congrats! Good practise for the next one :)
ikr? and the other way round, if i have played ATS for a few weeks and get to ETS2, it feels like i´m driving a toy car, they feel so light :D
So what do I do? Well I go all out and purchase a 53' trailer, not sure where the axle should be so I picked the one with the forward axle. In-game it just felt a bit too long for me! Quite a challenge indeed. I downgraded to a 48' which makes quite a difference.
I tried a 53 feet 3 axle personal trailer right off the bat and it's safe to say.... If it was IRL it would be a flatbed by now. lol
