Special Transport Issues [Clovis-Hobbs] & [Socorro-Tucson]

i'm on the last of the 17 routes, Clovis (NM) to Hobbs (NM)

during this ride already twice the message popped up "You have driven away from the escort vehicles". both times i was driving just behind the pilot-police car and no message popped up on the route advisor that something was wrong in advance.


this is the only route this has happened for me

On the Route Socorro (NM) --> Tucson (AZ) the leading pilot-police car crashed into a waiting vehicle at a traffic light, also forcing me to load a checkpoint.

Well I saw a police car literally flying across the intersection sideways in Globe on the way to Tucson doing the Special Transport. Kinda was in the way for me to make a wide turn

There is an "advance" message before this one. It warns you that you're getting too far away. Remember you have an escort in front AND one behind. If your front escort was there and you got this message, that means you've gotten too far ahead of your rear escort. Slow down or stop to wait for the rear escort to catch up. It could also be that the AI traffic has gotten in the way and is preventing the rear escort from moving so you may need to save and re-load to force the traffic to reset.

There is an "advance" message before this one. It warns you that you're getting too far away. Remember you have an escort in front AND one behind. I can say, no, there is no first message. Hit me a couple of times totally out of the blue. I see all the other pop-ups just fine, like line change, or "stay between cars" when I don't heed that.

There was no warning to wait on rear escort vehicle, it happened out of the blue.

Might be that traffic got between me and rear escort vehicle

This happened to me twice as well: once on the route from Artesia, NM, and again on the route from Gallup, NM. Both times I was on a one-lane exit ramp so no traffic cars could get between my rear escort and me, and both times I was following my lead escort at a steady pace not falling behind or getting ahead of it.

I've had this happen once on that route. I've also gotten a speeding ticket for going 45 for an extended period of time.

Since the upper speed limit is 40, I'm not surprised :).

Myself, I've had one case where I got the 'executing turn' pop-up just before an off ramp, after which the lead escort turned off the highway and up the ramp... despite the fact that the route *did not* take me up that ramp... heh. Confused, I continued on ahead but after a short while I got another pop-up telling me that "the escort vehicle collided with other traffic due to bad driving" (mine, I assume?) and had to reload a checkpoint.

As amusing as it was annoying :). Obviously still some glitches for SCS to work on but overall I like it a lot.

My issue is driving then all of a sudden a message pops up saying I drove away from the escorts.... The front escort is right in front of me, then I need to load a checkpoint and I get dinged 15k.

No warning message or anything, just hey, your escort is too far please pay 15k. Happened 3 times so far.

I'm guessing (and only guessing) that perhaps if you drive too much over 40mph for too long you may start to get too much ahead of the trail escort. I've been holding to 40 and under for the latest jobs haven't had this issue come up for me since (of course, could easily just be co-incidental).

ETS 2 version - when the rear escort car is to far or getting blocked. You usually get a pop up screen and the lead escort car in front will stop and you would have to stop until the rear escort catches up. So far ATS version doesn't let you know what going on behind you. so how are you supposed to know that the rear escort is way behind or caught into traffic?

By looking back when outside of cab view. Also, I know it can be annoying but it helps me to stop and save game then reload. This takes traffic away for a bit but enough to get the escorts back in group

issue is not related on speeding, I had this to happen me once on either San Rafael or Eureka, I was just in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my truck the break checking lead car and the escort behind, no other cars were around not even the leading vehicle as it just vanished and sent me back to the last checkpoint screen.
Other issues that are needed to be looked at are on any given final delivery area vehicles will mostly spawn and stop at the crossroad blocking your path, is not a big problem if you are quick to react, reverse before the rear escort comes up and sneak through them, but if the rear escort is too close you are either forced to reload or move the soccer moms car by pushing them out
Then the annoying break checks of the lead vehicle
Finally lead vehicle going snack bar across the road and smashing against other cars

Using any mods? This is the first I have heard of that issue
