Yes, you are right about the LED flashers, beacons, ect., they are legal, I was referring to other, more customizeable light bars. The type that can display messages, or are meant to be similar to spot lights for off-roading...
And yeah, I do prefer that if we do get them, that we're about to mount them on the roof of the cab in such a way that they wouldn't be behind any of the aero wings or anything instead of being on the back of the cabin.
There's a possibility that we'll get a couple once the special transport jobs come for ATS, just like they did with ETS2.
As for wings, most heavy haul trucks do not use wings or even hi top sleepers as wings and tall sleeper fairings are designed to push air up and over the front of the squared off van trailers. They don't serve any purpose on a truck that always pulls a lowboy or flatbed with irregular shaped loads.
True, but in the real world, the trucks that regularly do pull heavy loads are built and outfitted completely different than a "normal" OTR truck. Most OTR trucks will have decent sized sleepers with tall roof cabins and various aero mods and fairings. Most heavy haul, wide/oversize load and even many flatbed haulers will have flat top sleepers, permanently installed beacons, headache racks, heavier bumpers, wet kits, heavier front axles, heavy rear suspension and axles and potentially more axles. Since this is a sim game, it makes sense to copy the mounting for certain accessories on the stock game trucks at least. Again, there are mods to do just about anything with a few compromises. My heavy haul Pete looks more like a wrecker with all the flashing nonsense on it, but it's fun.

But I usually just run nothing but the heavy haul loads unless one is not available, and then I compromise and just haul a van with the Pete as it is and no aero fairings. If you run mostly van loads and want to keep a wing or tall sleeper fairing, then you might have to compromise with the beacons unless you run a few mods.
Beware, when you mix and match various beacons you may end up with some that look different when they light up, but the BigT and Whelen lights seem to work good together.
