You can Save and then Reload and it should be gone. Same goes for endless cars blocking you from exiting an off-ramp.
You can select way-points on your map as =ADSTA= recommends above, or you can just check your map frequently to keep from getting lost if you prefer to play that way.
All the GPS does is give you the shortest route, which may not always be the BEST route.
It doesn't matter if your hauling 8,000 lbs of TVs in a short Dry Van, or a 180,000 pound piece of equipment on a triple-articulated Low Boy, the GPS will give you the same route, which can be an issue if the shortest route is through the Million Dollar Highway in the Colorado Rockies.
Always look at that route for a job, and don't hesitate to make changes if you feel it necessary for a less stressful journey.
Well, serves me right for not paying attention.
