Discovering new cities (most efficient way)
Sometimes just driving on the highway past a city is enough to discover it. Sometimes (Winemucca NV for example) that doesn't discover the city. Is there a way to tell just by looking at the map if you [clarification] need to pull off the highway to discover the city? This is a question about the most efficient way to discover new cities.

Zoom in on the map to see street design, what companies are located there, if there are any repair/dealer/garages, etc.
I usually pull into the town to discover it, the recruitment agency, and truck shop when they are there. Unless I'm on a time sensitive run.

OK, once I see the street design, what companies are there and if there are any garages, etc, what does that tell me about whether or not I need to pull off the highway to discover the town?

If there are ? markers in the town, I usually do the same, but some towns don't have any. Is there any way to tell if you need to pull off the highway to discover the town? Sometimes you can discover the town without ever leaving the main highway or even slowing down.

It would be your choice if you want to pull off and discover the city and roads. No one can make that decision but you.

Now you're trolling me. It is a simple question.

Which cities do you need to pull off the highway to discover? Why can you sometimes discover them without pulling off the highway?

There seem to be invisible "City Limits" which differ from city to city. My best advice is to simply drive towards the name of the town on the map.

You're going to end up puttering around all the back roads and towns anyway if you're going for 100% map exploration, so don't worry about pulling off the highway.

Taking quick jobs would be the most efficient way to discover cities if that is all you want to do. Simply take jobs from cities you have discovered to cities you have not discovered and continue to do that until you have discovered all of the cities. You could reroute through the cities to discover recruitment agencies and dealerships in those cities.

In my experience if there are companies, garages etc and roads on both sides of the highway you'll "discover" the town just by driving through on the highway, but if all the roads and prefabs are on one side of the highway you'll have to turn off.
