American Truck Simulator on PS4

Well when is ATS going to Show Up On PS4 or X Box for that Mater ???? Farming Simulator 15,17 and 19 is there ! Whats the deal ?? PC is not the only platform !!

It may have to do with how often SCS updates the game and the restrictions that both Microsoft and Sony place on game developers. It's not a simple "let's make it work on <insert system here>".

Not to mention having to completely re-work the controls so that everything could be done on just a game-pad controller.

I think the game is doing just fine on PC; doesn't need to be on console. :)

These games are not console oriented in any way, they were designed, built, maintained, and are still supported for PC only. A console port would be really bad anyways imo, a good console game has to be designed to go on consoles in the first place.

^^^ kidding, really? But those games are well supported on consoles, which I think is why the OP brought it up...just as an example of the fact that development can be cross platform.

Updates on PS4 and XOne need to be certified, and those certifications cost money to do. I don't know how it is on the Switch, but I imagine in some ways, it is the case.

this will make the game cost more too over the pc version i know microsoft makes you pay for the console dev kit and its not cheap

You already own the game on Steam so why do you even want to waste money buying it again ?? You could spend that money to buy another game, not one you already have
