Is trailer profitable?
Do I make more money if I have my own trailer?

A job with your own trailer will give you more money than a similar job where you use your customers trailer.
But when you doing jobs with you own trailer, you may pay reapair on it: normal Wear and tear, and traffic damage.

Without to be sure, I'll guess you'll have a little better income using your own trailer if you don't get to many traffic damage repairs on your own trailer.

On the economy mod I play on,owning your own trailer will generally earn about 60% to 120% more than contracting out of the freight market. I am sure they earn you more with vanilla economy as well. The only downside to trailer ownership, is the loads arent very diverse, and for some reason, (laziness i assume) there are no WOT contracts for owned trailers.

I had 50 trucks, 50 drivers and 25 trailers. I sold all my trailers and with zero income mods my income slightly increased.

I attribute this to drivers having to match the trailer to a load. If there is none in the city they are in they have to return to their garage. They just can't drive to another city like you can.

I have 10 drivers, trucks & trailers. I had many types of trailers and over time, watching my trailers and how much they were being used, per location, I sold those less used and purchased those that were more profitable. It's working for me. Working on a 3rd garage now.
