Escort Car Stops on Highway

I've had this happen several times now. The escort car comes to a complete stop on the open highway. Usually I crash right into it and need to go back to a checkpoint. This time, though, I got smart and went on the shoulder to avoid it... but after I passed the escort, it stayed stopped. It didn't come forward. I failed the mission because I got too far ahead. It took me back to the checkpoint... and I was still in front of the escort car. I tried to back up and got the trailer jack knifed. I tried to turn around and got stuck on the side of the road. I can't call for assistance. I can't load another checkpoint. Am I just out the $15k here because I didn't crash my truck? :( Sad day.

Yeah. This happens with me too. If you pass front escort little. You can back little and escort will move. At Highway each bridge all cars slow move because in exit cop with siren(I know why, when you move out of city there all cars stopped that you can move easy after bridge). Escort move slow too than speed limit somewhere. Report to SCS and they should fix it.

Have done all ETS 2 and ATS ST jobs, never seen that. Maybe a mod? Or left overs of a Mod?

look i understand ok it happens to anyone ok what I did was if shot ahead make complete stop and turn around without going on to another lane all you have to do is to put on the diffrental loack on and make a turn around in one siode of the side of the road and later drive to where the escort car is and start agian do you see the point now

It checkpointed me at the spot where I had already gone ahead and then it checkpointed me again when I was stuck off road trying to get back on... LOL. I did get it figured out eventually.

I've had to reload SOOOO many times when the damn escort just suddenly stops dead. I'm running a mod that increases the ridiculously low speed limit (brings it to 100km/h), but even without that, you just don't have time to stop.

The trick is to hit the jake brake and normal brake together, and be ready to steer around to the most open side. Usually you stop before you pass the entire escort, so you only need to reverse about a car length to get it to move again.

SCS need to make quite a few changes to this mode, the stupid close front escort being first. It should be about 3-4 times the distance ahead on the open road, and should never just jam on the brakes.

Well tbh i had that happen many times so far even with cruise Control to 40mph, so that the escort is the farthest away from me, but sometimes with onramps he just really hits the brakes from 40mph to completely still for no reason and i just am able to avoid crashing by gear down to neutral and brake as hard as i can. It doesnt help either that the lights of the Escort are flashing and often you cant tell if he is braking or if its just the normal light flashing. Had to reload sometimes due to this and find it kinda stupid.

I mean i could just hit Esc and save and reload so my truck would be standing still also to avoid collision but that seems a bit far fetched for my taste.

I for now not do any Special Cargo unless its a Cargo i didnt do before (for archievement)

mods are the probable cause of this, haven't seen anything similar neither in ETS2 or ATS, on vanilla profiles or my mains, where the only mod I use is the reduced nav assist one....
