They have the same engine, so they are very similar. It also depends on the hardware you run. Some people report better FPS in ATS, like me, and other swear they get more FPS in ETS2. Even if there is a difference, it is so minimal, that you shouldnt bother to consider it in your decision on which game to buy.

The newer parts of the ETS2 map are 64 bit which is the same as the ATS map. The newer parts are Scandinavia, France and Italy so if your computer handles those parts then it should be fine with ATS. However, SCS are intending to upgrade the older parts of the ETS2 map and are currently upgrading Germany so eventually both games will be 64 bit.

ETS2 is run as either 64 bit or 32 bit, it doesn't matter which part of the map you are on.
The newer maps are more intensive yes, but it's not about 32/64 bit.

I always make it a habit of never arguing about something I have limited knowledge about.

Yes, ETS2 can be played in 32 bit or 64 bit but ATS is 64 bit only with an unsupported 32 bit version.

However, the point I was making is that the detail is much higher in the newer parts of ETS2 and the higher quality was because of it being done in 64 bit. Regardless of whether it can be played in either it is higher detail in 64 bit.

Are you saying I am wrong?

However, no need to be so rude with your reply.

I defintely notice a big change between ETS and ATS. I can easily play ETS on high on a crummy laptop with decent fps, while ATS looks like hot garbage and runs terribly. It also did that on a desktop that had a 750ti and a 3.5ghz chip (can't remember what brand) and like 16 gigs of ram.

You were correct in that the newer maps are more intensive, just wrong in the reasons why.

64bit and 32bit architecture don't work together in the same space at the same time, it's either one or the other. A 32bit program can run on a 64bit OS and most smaller apps are still 32bit but nothing programmed in 64bit can work on a 32bit OS. Also a 32bit application is bound to 4GB of ram usage, whereas 64bit is open to the extent of your motherboard specs(32GB for me) I think you are referring to 512x512, 1024x1024 pixels per cm versus 4098x4098p plus the addition of much larger and detailed prefabs.

Hardware wise they're about equivalent.

Gameplay wise ETS is more demanding. The roads are much twistier, especially in the UK.

For me ATS run's smoother than ETS but that's probably because I have more mods enabled in ETS. In vanilla both games run's similar for me.

Playing ATS can be a bit rough on your hardware because it may make you want to punch your computer. Some of the parking spots in ATS are rediculous, especially since trucks and trailers are longer.

ATS because of the two extra game worlds it adds if you add the hood mirrors.

ATS run better for me, with the same settings. It also look better due to a different type of lighting used. However they are adding such lighting to ETS 2, and it's going to be awesome.
