I play ATS in VR so interiror view is what matters most for me... only see my truck's exterior when inside the garage or the menu screen...
I think you misunderstood, I mean how the interior looks *in-game*. For example, how clear the important gauges/indicators/discretes will be (mostly meaning how obstructed will they be by the steering wheel), how much of the left mirror will be in view from the default forward looking view - you know, driveability things :)
Yes I did. Sorry about that. :)
They look like one of those modern hot rods that everyones supposed to ooh and ahh over because they have style feature that are "different" and "unique", but really they're hideous.
At least it's a new truck though. I actually can't wait try it out. I hope it has an extra liftable axle for heavy loads.
Ha! I'm not the only one hoping for an SCS 9900i. I actuallyprefer the 9400 but since there is zero chance of International licensing it to SCS and the only 9400 mods for ATS are outdated, I'm rooting for the 9900 instead. Although the 9900's chances aren't too good either as 2017 was the last official year International offered & produced the 9900. Prostar got replaced by the LT and the 9900 got replaced by the Lonestar.
But on their website, it seems they still produce the Prostar. You can "build your own".
That's sad for the 9900i. Classic looking trucks are disapearing, such a shame.
LOL
Yea it's pretty sad. I thought they were still producing the 9900 but a look on wikipedia says International ceased production of the 9900 in 2017. The LT is basically an improved Prostar and made specifically to replace the Prostar. I heard International ended Prostar production in 2016.
I just wonder if Navistar think it was a wise choice as it seems to divide opinion more than any other truck. Anyway sales will determine whether it was or not.
I wish it was as you say but I imagine Navistar would be thinking the more exposure the Lonestar has in the game the more acceptance it might gain. If they were to licence both the Lonestar and the 9900i then only players who really like the Lonestar would choose to use it in the game. Whereas having just the Lonestar would mean players like me who don't like the look of it will most likely still use it because it is another truck and that is what we have been craving for such a long time.
Just to add: I hope in the future when all truck manufacturers are in the game SCS will seek licences for the older out of production trucks. There are some great classic older trucks in the U.S. which would be superb additions to the game. Even if they were released as a paid DLC I am sure there would be a great many players who would be willing to pay for them. I know I would.
