If there are no other options, I might, but honestly I want a realistic experience, I just want a realistic experience that matches the real world more closely. Getting tickets for going 1 MPH over the limit doesn't happen in real life, period (besides in ridiculously, extremely rare cases), and speed cameras... even if they are realistic, it's just something I'd rather not have to deal with.
I can usually get away with about 4 mph over, but that's about it, which actually is pretty close to accurate, since most police won't bother with you unless you exceed about 5 mph over in real life.
Like Mouse said, if it bothers you that much, just turn off traffic offenses, or better yet.., just don't speed... lol
I'm playing right now, and in Cali I'm getting tickets for going 2-3 MPH over the limit via speed cameras. I'm using cruise control to test it, you can indeed get tickets for going JUST over the limit (I think there's a probability on it), and I just read countless other accounts of the same thing.
Not really looking to debate about the game here guys, just looking if there are ways to do the things I asked. Keep to that please, thanks!
1. Turn off traffic offenses.
2. Get a mod that keeps the police cars while disabling the traffic offenses. (Which I've not seen)
3. Don't speed/Learn to live with it. (Which is what most of us do)
1. remove the speed cameras : can be done through altering the file police_data.sii
2. raise the speeding tolerance : It might be hardcoded (aka cannot be changed)
2. decrease the offences probability : can be done through altering the file police_data.sii
2. increase the offences delay : can be done through altering the file police_data.sii
I've done that years ago and it's " life changing ".
2 - search for "police" or "fines"
3 - Browse to your heart's content
4 - If nothing strikes your fancy try requesting something in the mods section of the SCS forum.
I'm sure there are probably some out there, but I've not seen them.
The game allows you to go 10% over the limit before fining you.
Where is this police_data.sii file? I'm having a hard time finding it.
I was just able to find a mod that apparently increases the tolerance for speed cameras only to 20%, but it has no reviews and it seems like half of these mods are broken. I'd prefer to remove cameras while changing police car tolerance, but if it works it's a start at least.
I did, there's almost nothing on the workshop, and not much online either. I wouldn't have posted here otherwise.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that this is incorrect. I just tested it.
I'm gonna take a wild guess that your issue might be related to a traffic mod as those do change the way cars, police, etc are spawning in the game.
Results may vary apparently, becase I've read threads exactly like this one with half the people saying they're getting tickets for 1-4 MPH over and the other half with your experience. I don't get it, but I can 100% tell you I just tested it with zero mods and got ticketed for going under 5 MPH over via speed camera. I have no idea man.
Mohegan is an official tester of the game, can you provide some evidence to back this up?
You say you've tested it with zero mods, but for absolute clarity was it a profile that has never had mods installed?
If you can provide some further data, Mohegan will raise a defect if he can replicate the issue.
Then do #4. There aren't many modders in this forum to help you.
I've never modded the game before running into the speed camera annoyances. The installation has literally never been touched by mods. I cruise control set my speed to 58 MPH in a 55 and got hit with a speed camera fine going 58.
Dozens of people have the same stories from browsing threads online. I don't really know what else to tell you. I really don't care enough about proving it beyond that, I'm just trying to figure out a tweak to get the desired result.
