Since the ingame FFB is pretty poor, I suggest this plugin, if you are in a bit of tinkering:
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=49772
It's v2.5, get the 2.5.1 dll here:
http://sharemods.com/6purg6cnq045/Real_G27_ffb_x64.dll.7z.html
However, it's user made, developpment seems to pause right now, but it's intensely used by hardcore players, thread is still active. You may have bad luck and it won't work. But usually, there's always a way.
Finally it will feel like a real steering wheel. If you had it for 10 Minutes, you stop play without it. Be aware: Since the old ingame roads are mostly plain flat, there's not much road feed back. But the new logging roads in Oregon will put a smile on your face!
Make sure the 'Enable Centering Spring' checkbox in your Logitech software is UNchecked.
In-game -> Options -> Controls:
Under FFB settings, adjust the FFB centering slider toward the right. The further to the right, the stronger the castor steering gets.
As for the feedback being poor, opinions vary,
I find no issues at all on a G27, so no idea what you're complaint is.
Seeing as we are driving and not racing trucks plus they are getting increasingly "easier and more comfortable" to drive I suppose the FFB is as expected.
Smooth and boring on tarmac and on dirt all it does is rattle, definitely doesn't make me smile.
