Any way in the game to take the rev limiter off?
So I was to rev higher in a lower gear for heavy on a hill, but it'll still knock me up a gear. What setting do I have to make sure I can run the gears like I want in certain situations.

You can set a keybind to Switch between Auto and Sequential from in-game. It'll keep you were whatever gear at the time of switch until you switch back, or until you press Shift or Control(or whatever your shift keys are).

I have a sequential shifter on my wheel but it's a pain in the butt to run that way so I have the game set to "real automatic" with a switch so that I can change it to sequential on the fly. That way climbing hills or off ramps when heavy I can hold the gear I want.

Manual shift?

Yeah I want a brake hold or something. There is no reason if I see a big hill coming it won't let me go to 10th or something and just rev high a while. If I downshift in 13 it won't let me rev higher than the usual shift point.

I'm on keyboard.

Well, it's trying to simulate a diesel engine. The hill climb power is in the gear selection, not pouring on the revs like a gasoline engine.

Keyboard doesn't affect whether you use manual or auto. I use manual on keyboard.

I find the 18 speed best to run. You have 'half gears' to use so you can keep the RPM's up on hills.

Thanks for posting this because this is a huge help to me because I was wondering if I could have more control over the gear changes during a hill climb. I hate driving up a hill very slow.

Driving slow uphill is normal in a loaded semi, nothing can change that. More rpm's doesn't give you more power, it's just more wear on the engine and uses more fuel. In the game, 1500 rpm seems to be about right for pulling a hill.

Yeah I know not to gun it up hills but for the sake of the game I can have more fun in the truck. I want to red line it going places, especially up hill. It doesn't let me do that so I wanted like gear hold or downshift and it lets me keep climbing in that gear.

Yeah that is true. What I meant to say was to have more control of my truck going up hill so I can keep momentum instead of losing it drastically.
