Choppy frame rates
Today, I started to get choppy framerates. Before today, everything was fine. I installed new drivers for my Nvidia GT 730. Still, the same problem.

GT730 is a pretty old video card. Is it the 2GB or 4GB version ??

I'm pretty sure that NVidia don't make any more drivers for the old GT series cards and haven't since May this year. Earliest card they still make drivers for are the GTX745 and up. NVidia also don't make any new drivers for 32 bit systems now either. So the driver you updated to would be from back in May this year.

There are a lot of things besides the graphics card and its drivers that can cause this problem. Check the hard drive disk usage (under the performance tab in the task manager) I recently ran a full reset of my computer because the disk was running at 100% usage, causing really bad fps issues. I also reccomend that you clear you cache folder, it could help. Did you add any new mods recently? A lot of mods, or even a few depending on what they are, can affect your framerate negatively.

A 730 is pretty weak for games, you need a 760 or better. The middle number gives you a clue. In the newer 1000 series the same sort of thing applies, a 1080 is a far stronger card than a 1050. I have a 1050 and it works reasonably well in this game, I wish I had bought a 1080 though.

100% video card issue, even my GTX1080ti gets fps drops at times in this game. Oregon is choppy as Fk at times. It just means that if you want to enjoy this game and just about every other 2018+ simulator, you need to upgrade your gear - Also an SSD would help a lot too.

I have found that with some tuning and using XOC by Nvidia you can tweak the power supply, This is what was causing it for me. Power supply was being overused.

You went below 30 fps once in Oregon? It happened to me, with a gtx 1070. I was waiting at an intersection in a town, with heavy traffic. It would only happen in cabin, I would get back to 60 as soon as I go outside my cabin. I decreased mirror quality and distance to medium, I wonder if it will be enough to fix the fps drop issues?

Believe it or not I corrected this using XOC to increase the power and temp settings. Highest temp has been 54C. Have to run fans at max. It worked for me.

It doesn't really mater what you do. this game really isn't optimized and some days it's going to run great and some days it's going to run like crap, it's the nature of the game engine. The Prism3D game engine has been around since 1997 and is starting to show it's age. I run a GTX 1070 @1366x768 with in game settings on ultra @ 400 scaling and with DSR set to 2x native resolution and like I said some days are great and some days aren't. SCS is improving the game with tweaks, but they really need a better game engine pure and simple.
