Truck wash
I'm sure the truck companies are not wanting this but, I'd really like to see my truck get dirty over time and have to swing into washing stations to clean it up. Nothing fancy just a place like our garages, pull it, pay a fee, and come out clean (cost more if you have your trailer attached of course).

SCS intend to add it at some stage. They did intend to add it when the game was released and that is why there are truck wash stations around the map. They evidently had problems implementing it so it was not added.

Just to add: It is a a feature which has been requested for a long time by a lot of players.

Its more to do with a game engine limitation at the moment as to why this isn't around currently. Its definitely doable in DX9, Farming Sim 17 has this mechanic and it does work. But seeing as that is a GIANTS Engine and not SCS' Prism3D, its not really implemented. It'll probably come in due time, and I don't believe the manufacturers would have any real issues with dirt textures on the trucks. Far as I'm aware, I think most of them just won't approve anything with physical damage in the game, which I believe was alluded to at one point in the last dev stream I think. Hard to watch anything when some aren't in English, so I'd have to rely on translations or highlights.

But yeah, I'm sure it'll get implemented, just its likely not a high priority for them.

Before you can load goods with your own trailer, eg medicines, or medical equipment, you must arrive in accordance with Eu law with a clean combination, inside and outside.
Of course, also applies to perishable goods or hazardous liquidation
And that you get a sign after washing, now it is only possible to load this stuff.
You drive in, to green payment point, enter, paid example € 100.00. gets screen 30 sec, and combination is clean. drive backwards.
like to have a company in every city.

i dont now the low in Amerika, that would be a great addition.
I have ask this in Euro truck.
it remains a simulation, but as it is in the world.
Greeting

The law in America, or at least at the P&G plant where I use to work is that at least for food stuffs the trailers must be clean and have good seals on the doors. I often had to reject trailers that were not clean, made some truckers mad, but they had to just deal with it. I was not allowed to sign in any trailer that needed cleaning because the only thing made at this particular plant was potato chips. But the trailers were never cleaned on site. They had to go somewhere else and get it done, mostly because they were expected to inspect their own trailer before even arriving and have sense enough to know that if it was dirty it would not be taken. You would be shocked though at the number of truckers who thought we were just idiot gate guards who didn't known anything and would try to slip one through just to save time.

Mohegan has confirmed that this is false. SCS attempted to implement dirt but weren't happy with the result.

Pavel also confirmed that in the recent live stream. Truck washing was one of the questions asked during that stream.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I didn't know they had attempted this and failed. So maybe we will eventually see it in the future. I'm just glad to know SCS wanted this feature themselves and that alone gives me some hope lol.

Really lame if SCS can't get the manufacturers to allow trucks to get dirty! Farming Simulator has name brands and dirt. Hopefully it is more of an implementation problem and not a legal issue.

It is an implementation problem only. There is no problem with the truck manufacturers regarding washing of trucks. It was a false rumour that truck manufacturers would not allow it.

It spawned from the fact damage is generally a no-no for manufacturers, some people just assumed that was true of dirt too.

If they really cared about dirt, I doubt we'd be allowed to have custom paint job mods. I mean look at the rubbish or inappropriate things people put on their skins.

I would be neat with truck wash stations where you just could roll in your truck and get I washed. I just imagine I got a "truck wash" in my big garage in Reno. Doesn't work very well though, lol. In my company (in game) it's very important to have a clean truck, but I also want to see if I have been to a sawmill, construction site, quarry etc. These places, including the forests, aren't clean all the time. Especially if there has been a thunderstorm or rainy weather to soak the ground making it muddy. :longhaul:

All the times I had my tractor/trailer washed I pulled into a stall and some guys with pressure washers/sprayers cleaned it. The normal car wash stuff won't work as they need to get into to many cracks and crevices where grease and grime builds up so a tractor and trailer is always manually cleaned by people. I retired a few years back so that may have changed but thats the way it was done before.

Oh i know lol, all that would most likely be way to complicated for SCS to implement into a game. That's why I'd be happy with just a place to pull in and pay a cleaning fine, you could see how far people have drove by how dirty the truck is or where they've been (dirt, coal, and so on). Or simply see how much people care about their trucks by how clean they are!

I think it would be great to be able to do it ourselves like in Farming Sim games. Being able to grab a pressure washer and clean our own trucks and trailers but until SCS add the ability to walk around the truck that will not happen.

I really wish in garages there was the ability to walk around the truck. That would open options for doing checks and perhaps the ability to wash our trucks, do oil changes, tire changes etc etc. Anyway, I hope SCS look at that in the future.

Those are great ideas! I'd love to be able to get out of our trucks and walk around, but i also like going check out trucks at shows and what not. So to be able to meet up with others and walk around each others trucks would be pretty cool.
