No more long trailers in CA?
So no more of the "long" trailers? I dont like taking the small light weight trailers because you dont get the full effect if you have a powerful truck.

48' is still decently long.

???

I'm running 53' out of Bakersfield, no issues. Tabletop & reefer... just can't have 4 axle setups.

It's a stupid feature. I get that's the way it is in real life but in real life you can slide the tandems so you don't need multiple trailers. Why stop there though? Why not make the weight station measure axle weight, like in real life, and then you can buy 3-4 trailers with different axle configurations until you make weight.

You have to take the 53f with the front axle config.

And yes, being able to slide the tandems would be neat...maybe it will come one day.

Meh, I stay out of Kalifornia anyway. In real life and in ATS. :D
Gar1328 Aug 17, 2018 @ 4:50pm
Most semi trailers I see have the tandems foward anyways

So to clarify, are the ones that are in my photo being restricted or are the large tanks with the droppable axles being restricted?? And does anyone know if it means you just cant pick up the jobs in california with those trailers or is it like the rocky mountain doubles where you cant pick up or deliver in other states? Thanks for all the help!

For California, semi-trailer with tandem axles must have 40 feet or less KPRA - distance between kingpin and rear-most axle. So, if you get 53-foot trailer with front tandem placement, you should be compliant

Why does CA hate trucks?

Well I don't know about jobs, I haven't taken any jobs out of Bakersfield as yet, but I can certainly garage my 53' 3-axle tabletop & reefer there no issue. I started out with the 4-axle config which was a no-go, but the 3-axle setup was fine.

Its not just CA, I cant get jobs anywhere with a reefer. I can use and insulated/dry 53' with the tandems all the way up in CA and everywhere else no issues. Bug/no loads implemented perhaps?

Oh ok, well actually I haven't checked for any reefer loads as yet, others will have to weigh in to confirm. My drivers have picked up reefer jobs, so the reefer loads themselves at least are working... You could try an economy reset, see what that gets you.

Short triaxle trailers are fine. Someone asked why CA hates trucks. In Ontario we have a Provincial Police Commisioner who apparently openly said he hates trucks. So when they have a safety blitz there is a lot of trucks taken off the road for minor offenses.
