How do you sleep in non-sleeper cabs?
It just bugs me that you can sleep in a truck that doesn't have a sleeping cab. So what makes it possible that you sleep alright in that situation?

im 48 years old.. i use to be a truck driver. at all the truck stops there are motels and hotels around with truck drivers very often staying at them, even at times when they have sleeper cabs. got a couple family members who always slept in those instead of their trucks. some folks just pull into any town and stay at them, regardless if there is a truck stop or not. ive also slept and laid down before even in a non sleeper cab. all the claims a day cab cant travel somewhere anywhere where a sleep will be needed is pure BS and should be ignored. even this game has places you can pull into and rest with little motels. you pull over and sleep. i see a non issue claim being made by people who dont even drive trucks or ignoring what they do in real life in this siutation. day cabs are generally for day travel yes. to think they cant pull over and sleep somewhere is just stupid. no. the game doesnt need to forcefully change anything. its a game.. if it somehow in someway hurts your imaginaring reason for a day cab not being able to pull over anywhere to sleep, then stop at the hotels or other places or better yet dont bother hauling long trips in the freaking first place. for the folks who replied sarcastically to the others.. thats what kind of reply this topic deserves. heh thumbs up.

"Only once at level 20. Before that you lie under the truck and get gnawed on by coyotes. Don't forget to buy anti-coyote spray at the truck stop."

again. non issue.

If you are tired you can sleep everywhere. Otherwise you can use a hotel. For realism.

Have fun

I understood the mechanic. I just wondered why.

A "Daycab" is for day travel only. I think. Short jobs? Why? I dont know why. I think nobody knows.

Have fun

So would it just be a developer oversight or is it a "fun over realism" decision? Since it gave me a quick job that went to the other side of the map.

If you're gonna go there then you also have to ask why if you do have a sleeper you cannot sleep anywhere. I see it all the time locally along the offramps late at night. The develepers chose the current sleep mechanic to add a small measure of difficulty and planning to the game and it would have to be scrapped to make either of these changes.

Yea, about that. The attendant laughed me out of the truck stop when I asked, but on the plus side he forgot to charge me for the diesel. So theres that.

This is one of the game aspects that many people talk about for a long time already. You can sleep anywhere with daycab, so there is no point in getting sleeper except for appearance

The reason it is like this in game is because it is unrealistic to assume that you can just instantly afford to buy a sleeper cab when starting the game.

How does somebody that only has a daycab sleep or take jobs? Until they can afford a sleeper and just force them to do only quick jobs?

Go into game settings and turn the sleep or tires off by putting a check in the box... Wala... No more tires eyes or the terrible yawn...

Again. Not the point.

I think this is a good point to implement in a possible (hopefully soon to come) hardcore mode. Let's say you're driving a day cab and rest on a truck stop, then when you wake up you won't be able to drive another 14 hours before resting again, you wouldn't be well rested which means you'd only be able to drive for anther 7 hours or so. To be fully rested you'd need to find a motel or hotel. If you're on a sleeper everything is fine tho.

Waste of development time.

:steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:

Its for beginners. Daycab are mostly short chassis ( 200 gal ). Better handling than the 300 gals.

Have fun
