Steerable axle trailers
Ok so what the point of steerable axle trailers here? I figured they would be useful for better control of backing in the trailer when dropped. But I haven’t notice any real difference with the axle drop or not for backing in.

Is that their purpose? I really don’t know as I never seen one before.

a bit extra weight capacity (state law permiting) and not having to force 4 axles to slide around a turn. mostly just better tire life if it turns while going down road.

as far as in game goes, i've not played with them much, but I would suppose they have slightly better turn radius than a non-steerable version. Since it doesnt seem extra axles allow more weight in game like it does IRL (you get the same load offer on cargo market, regardless of if you are using a 2 axle or 4 axle drybox) I'd say its a matter of preference right now.

Yeah I don't see any real differance in turning it with the axle up or down.

It's funny that the game allows the non-steerable version to take the same loads, yet on the steerable one it won't let me raise the axle for a heavy load.

The point of having a steerable axle is not to have to lift them around corners. Only when backing up

Non steerable lift axles should be raised when cornering to lessen the drag

Both should be lifted when backing up (especially if it's required to jackknife the trailer) to lessen the drag (in the case of the fixed) and to prevent the axles from going 'sideways' (in the case of the steerable)
