dlc oregon or new mexico
I want to buy one of these states but I haven't decided which one to choose. I'll pick one of them and maybe after a while I might buy the next one. Right now I'm a starter, I don't drive too long distances. Around 200 miles usually.

Can you tell me which one you like more and why?

Oregon will give you "green", New Mexico will give you more Arizona-like scenery to drive in.

thanks, well that was short...

Well, it depends if you want more of the same or something different. ;-)

I mean... this is really the only essential difference between the two. I have both, but if I had neither and only wanted to get one of them, I would probably go with Oregon. It's not better than New Mexico, per se. However, the "base game" (California, Nevada, & Arizona) is a bit "desert heavy", so to "balance it out a bit" I would go with Oregon.

I think Oregon is much better but I'd go in order and grab New Mexico first especially if you are intending to get both in the long run regardless. They are both attractively priced so you will get your money's worth and if you do it in the order they were released; you can see how each state improves from a developement standpoint.

Now that makes sense

I might do that. For the reason, right now I'm closer to Mexico in the map.

Since adding map DLC will reset you to your home garage this might or might not still be the case then.

I'm not sure I don't drive more than 200 miles as I said, will that be the case?

Adding dlc doesn't reset you, it is the patch that comes out at the dlc's release that resets your truck.

Just a thought: If you plan to go with New Mexico are worried that installing DLC might reset your position (don't remember if that is, in fact, the case), you could always buy a garage somewhere in eastern Arizona and just "fast travel" to that location if you don't want to drive the whole way.

I don't have much money right now. Abaut 70k I think. Garages are expensive. I'm a beginner yet

I prefer Oregon, but just based on rl preference.

Both are good choices as both have a decent amount of polish compared to the base game. Intersections are better laid out, truck stops are more realistic and while Oregon has a couple small bugs that haven't been patched up yet, both are probably the best content in the game so far. The difference is as others have said, most of New Mexico is desert, and most of Oregon is forest. New Mexico does have higher speed limits if that has any bearing on your choice, but that's about it.

Me personally, I would pick Oregon simply because it has some new environments, some nice scenery on the coast and logging roads with the unique job of hauling logs.
