Louisiana DLC/Expansion?
Dear SCS Software / American Truck Simulator Devs,

as a fellow New Orleanian can we get some love for my state? We have a RICH history with the trucking, oil & gas, petrol industry down here. with lots of backwater roads, beautiful old historic buildings and landmarks.

I think American Truck Simulator could do very well by down the state of Louisiana and, i'd love to see it as an upcoming DLC / Expansion in the future.

Thoughts? :-)

They are slowly working their way east, be patient

I know being patient is very hard but I rather SCS do it safely than rush it. Well before COVID hit, they were able to go faster even on the bigger states.

After Texas, I predict Oklahoma DLC, North & South Dakota DLC, then probably Nebraska & Kansas in one DLC. (There's hardly anything there...)

Yeah I would almost say after central US is completed. Should (hopefully) at least bundle the states together, they begin to get smaller the more east you go!
Its all flat and boring to the east so all those plains states should be a five minute job.
Louisiana is just a swamp so as to be completed in Dave's lunch break.

La doesnt really offer a lot in the terms of eye appeal though. Bridges over swamps called highways and ramshackle trailer communities scattered about the few dry land areas isnt exactly attractive.

though i would say those inclines in some spots are noteworthy. not too many places that has them.

from Baton Rouge originally, have family down there, visit regularly. the landscape is what makes a good ATS DLC and im not sure La is the best choice.

just being honest.
I was driving in la few days ago in the Crew 2 and I really loved the landscapes. I was almost whole time thinking, someday THIS will be in ATS too, can't wait...
yes i would love to see this but unfortunately i think we will have to get the mid-west states first before Louisiana comes out
for the mean time just enjoy the mods

I think your predictions may be right. Although I don't believe in psychics, but I think the way the generally work is that not only do they work their way east but when they have a set of states, they work their way north as well. I know that I-35 runs from Texas intro Oklahoma, and into southern Kansas. And then it bends to the northeast working it's way up to Des Moines, Iowa. So in geographical order, heading north, after Texas is done, then Oklahoma is next, then Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, then North Dakota. I-35 makes it's swing to the northeast in Wichita, KS. But then going straight north, you have I-135 and that becomes US 81. Then 81 comes close to I-29 in Watertown, South Dakota.

Like I say, once the workforce at SCS picks up, that may help speed up the progress.
Can't wait for Nebraska. :happysquirrel:
dont know if ill even be able to still play video games, by the time they reach my home State, which is Pennsylvania
nothing personal but as a real life trucker I hated going thru Lousy-anna, as a lot of truckers call it. dont get me wrong its a beautiful unique state, the bayous and all, but the roads are horrible, the truckstops are run down, traffic always sucks, and the law was always watching. but great food and atmosphere. Love me some boudin,, shrimp poboys and softshells
