After Update - Game will not launch - shows running in task bar
I started to play this game a day or so ago. No issues with original install, no issues with start up or with the hand ful of mods I had.

Queue yesterday and the DLC update.

Allowed the update to go through, started the game when finished. Icon would show the whirly gig and then disappear, check task manager and amtrucks.exe is running.

Closed the process.
Unsubscribed and Removed Mods (Standard update practice)

Same result
Started to research on the Web, followed and performed the following:
1. Removed all Mods
2. backed up data in the My Documents ATS folder
3. Uninstalled ATS, Removed My Documents ATS folder
4. Reinstalled ATS, allowed all updates and validated files - (Still would not launch)
5. Checked My Documents ATS folder, only data there is a log file, no errors registered in log file
6. Validated file integrity again (no changes made after validation)
7. Uninstalled ATS, restarted Computer, Reinstalled ATS, Validated Files - (Still no start)
8. Forced Steam run Steam file validation/upgrade (no Start)
9. ATS Launch properties - tried -windowed and then tried -autoconfig -fullscreen
10. Tried Safe mode launch, tried direct x launch, validated direct x files
11. Updated graphic drivers (August drivers to October Drivers for Nvidia)

I am at a total loss. This game was working perfectly without issue prior to the DLC update.
Usually if I have an app fail to launch, I immidately suspect mods. That was the first thing I removed and then retried. Then it is standard to uninstall and restart comp. Again, normal trouble shooting tactics have failed.

I don't have any external overlays running (Reshade/MSI/Fraps/etc) and games which demand a whole heck of a lot more resources are running fine (Steam or otherwise)

This has to be something simple (if it causes this much aggravation it usually is) but for the life of me I cannot figure out what. If nothing else the fresh clean install should have dealt with it.

Any other suggestions?

Windows 10 64 bit

Try running it in Open GL first, then running at the monitor's native resolution. If it still crashes, post the crash log to pastebin for everyone to analyse.

Tried to run as Open GL, still didn't launch. exe showed in task manager.
I don't see an actual crash log in either the games steam directory or the document directory, so including the game.log.txt , in case this is the log you are referring to.

I also forgot to mention in the original post, I had cleaned the registry of orphan references after uninstalling ATS too. After reinstalling the registry entries appear to be correct.

After reading everything you have done I don't understand why your game is not running. Have you cleared the cache? You can do that by clicking on Steam in the top left corner of your screen and select Downloads and then select Clear download cache.

Now I know this is a very silly question but I have to ask it and please don't be upset at me for asking. Have you clicked on ATS in the taskbar while it is running? If not do that.

Bingo on Clearing the Cache, haven't had to do that before. Knew it had to be bloody simple :) Thank you so much Willy.J.K.

Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest driver for your graphics card. Right click on ATS in your Steam Library and select Properties and then select Local Files and then select Verify integrity of game files.

Check your game log in your ATS folder in Documents, it is called game.log.txt and check for any errors and lots of warnings. If the game was running well before then it must be something which has changed.
