Triple trailers disappointing
So I got my garage in Oregon, and bought myself a triple trailer thinking it would be awesome to own, since the standard freight market never has triples available. Then after 2 deliveries I realize the game just isnt built for them. When arriving to load freight, the game wants you to back them into a standard hole, which is impossible since you cant disconnect the trailers like you would in real life. Then, when you arrive to deliver, even if you parked in the zone perfectly it doesn't seem to register that the trailer is in place, meaning I am forced to "skip" parking the trailer and lose the experience. Overall I am thoroughly impressed with the expansion and the game so far, but I was really looking forward to running some triples, only to find that the devs half a***d them. I really wish they would re think the delivery and loading aspect of these trailers, otherwise I dont see much of a point to having them in the game. Oh well, rant over.

Could not agree with you more on the trailer issues, very frustrating indeed.
As to the DLC in general? The lack of enough minor roads to make the driving more interesting is very dissapointing, there is only so much "interstate" or "highways" I can take, the majority of which is spent at top speed with cruise control on(gets tedious quite fast).
Taking minor roads with large or long loads makes for a more interesting drive(for me at least), it makes me think more about what I`m doing instead of vegitating for 90% of a normal journey(5% getting out of town A, 5% getting into town B).
So I`d give the DLC 3/5 stars, great scenery, but lacking in route diversity.

i found the Tripples dissapointing in the fact they are too small, effectively only Dog trailers..

For me, the double trailere act funny. When i was on the I-84 on those turns, the trailer in the back would just bouncing around and then i lose control

Do you have any mods running?

The game should default to "easy parking" when using triples/doubles. Unless you've specifically told the game otherwise. That is, should not require reversing to get in to said spot. Double is somewhat reversable, triple realistically is not reversable at all.

Also if using map mods, the maker may not have taken longer combos into account.

I thought it was doing that already?
I have my parking set to skilled and have always got the easy parking when hauling doubles/triples. Always just drive it straight in, and the truck gets flipped around during loading facing the other way.

Triples are all over the place in the freight market. When you pick up a load click on the Cog on the trialer at the depot and select the style of trailer you want for the run.

Just because it does not spawn as a triple doesn't mean you cannot take it as a triple.

I been doing mostly dobles and triples on my runs in Oregon.

You know, I never thought to look in the custom options when selecting trailers for triples, that is a good point. Even so, I feel when doing triples through the fraight market you are at less of a disadvantage than owning atriple trailer, since as I mentioned, when being tasked to load the trailer, the game required you to back them into a stall you could never get them into.

It does default to easy. I edited the game file so I had the option to do hard parking for some of the heavy cargo, but even when choosing the easy option with the triples, they dont seem to register that you are in the parking zone.

Yeah thats also the problem with how the entire map has developed so far. I have run I-40 so many times I could probably hand draw it from memory, due to the L shape of the map only offering one feasible route from NM to CA. I get around this by lowering the preferred job length so I can drive the more interesting country roads, and less traveled highways. I reallly hope they start filling out by adding WA, ID, CO, WY, UT, MT and TX so we at laest have more than 2 directions to long haul in. As far as having more back roads, I am less worried, as every update has added more roads and towns to the game. Speaking of, have you been through Clifton AZ yet? That was a really neat drive.

This is true for deliveries, but with loading it just assigns you a hole without asking for a preference. I dont use map mods either, The only mods I really use are truck mods, economy mods and various cosmetic mods

I've only tried one triple-trailer job so far with an owned trailer (only one at all actually), was picking up from the wreckers in Portland. Had to cheat to get the pickup as it was impossible to reverse the triples past the weigh-bridge and keep everything straight, so I parked the truck trailers far enough away, activated Dev camera and then moved my truck to where the cab would need to be to line the trailers up in the pickup zone, disconnected the trailers from the cab and then drove the tractor over to the job selection point to select the job.

My owned trailer is 2 28' reefer. And I have never been asked to back the trailer in, there is always a spot laid out I can pull into. The only reason you have to back a trailer in is because your set:

Option to back up doubles is disabled by default, same as for Heavy Haul DLC trailers. It can be changed in config.cfg

uset g_simple_parking_doubles "1" > uset g_simple_parking_doubles "0"

As a "Retired" 25+ yer trucker who actuall "Pulled" Triple Canadian Trailers From Edmonton to Calgary with Canadian Weights, (not wimpy USA Limits) and Turnpike Doubles..I can Honestly say the "TRIPLES" Do track/pull like the real thing, but LACK a Tad of Physical Weight...These BUGGERS make a Truck "DIE" at the very first "HILL"...With a SIDE wind you can SEE the Back BUMPER of the Third Trailer in the Mirrors on One windward side, and the Leaward side was the Company LOGO!...the WHOLE THING becomes Horseshoe Shaped....Its an Expeirence that Wakes me from a deep sleep in a "Cold Sweat" still 40 years later ...the Turnpike Doubles or TWO 48' Reefers/Dry Vans were/are Rolling Rocket Sleds that were hard to Stop....

Memory of Interstate roads? After 25+ years (before I retired) i didn't NEED a Rand Mc Nallys to get from POINT A to B in the USA or CANADA either...
