Here is a link for ATS, and there is also the workshop for the game:
https://atsmods.lt/
Correction: they did it in ETS2 as well and that's what caused their trouble. But the trouble was because they made their fake trucks too similar to real trucks. If they had made fake trucks that did not look like real trucks, there would have been no problem.
They could still do that now, but they don't want to. And I don't blame them. Having real truck brands makes the game feel more legitimate.
Fortunately it didn't go that far and they were able to come to terms and get a license with them.
Not having licenced trucks may suit some players but players ike me would no longer have the same affection for the game. I use mods for other truck brands until SCS gains licences for those brands and that is an option for anyone who plays the game. There are some mod trucks which are extremely good and very high quality. The game may only have 4 trucks but there are plenty of mods.
In an interview with Squirrel last year Pavel said that SCS wants to be taken seriously by the trucking industry and accepted as part of the industry. Having licenced trucks and trailers will help with that.
Just to add: If players don't want to use mods then they must accept what trucks are in the game. Complaining about the numbers will not increase those numbers and wanting fake brands will not create fake brands.
What were those errors associated with?
If they were because you were using mod trucks then you don't know how to manage mods correctly. If you manage mods correctly then problems will not occur.
There is an option of returning to the previous version of the game if mods are made incompatible with an update to the game and you can use that until you can update your mods. Right click on ATS in your Steam Library and select Properties then select Betas and then scroll down and you will find the previous version of the game, simply select that and you are on the version of the game before the update.
