Need help with Mega Shifter Install and setting
I bought a mega shifter last year and it worked great. I cant remember how I set it up and havent played my game in months. For some reason I just tried to load the game and it doesnt recognize the logitech g29 shifter or the mega shifter. I started messing with setting and now really lost. So first thing is when I load the logitech software it shows the wheel, pedals, and shifter. When I load the game and go into controls setting and use the pulldown I only see steering wheel and pedals (no shifter). When I select H shifter and eaton fuller 18 it recognizes the shifter positions Joy12-18 (or something) but doesnt recognize the range selector and splitter. What am I doing wrong. Can someone post screenshots of the setting who have the tech affliction mega. I thought I took screenshots in the event i ever needed to look back but now cant find them.

In controls:

Dropdown 1 - Keyboard and G29
Dropdown 2 - Shifter
Dropdown 3 - Mega Shifter

If you are not seeing all of these, then go into your profile folder and delete the controls.sii file.

When setting up the Mega Shifter...don't change any of the shift position. Shifter Toggle 1 is for the range selector. Shifter Toggle 2 is the splitter. Make sure the box for Shifter Toggles use switch mode is checked.

OK, loaded game. Went to controls settings and in the dropdown I only see the following:
Keyboard only
Keyboard + mouse steering
Keyboard + mouse steering including pedals
Keyboard + logitech G920 Driveing Force Racing Wheel USB

thats it. If I select the logtiech dropdown 2 does not allow me to pulldown. I dont see shifter anywhere or mega shifter as options. I deleted the ssi file and still nothing.

Have you checked the game controllers from control panel(under devices and printers) to make sure the computer is seeing the driving force shifter and the mega shifter?

Swap out the micro usb cable. Sounds like it might have went bad if the computer is not seeing it.

And i'm guessing the driving force shifter is plugged directly into the wheel as I don't think Logitech's shifters are possible as a standalone usb.

after further investigation of the usb/mega shifter interface it looks like the black and red wires are no longer connected to the tiny droid style plug that plugs into the adapter box...

If you have a small enough screwdriver...just loosen the screw and plug them back in. Black wire plugs in next to the brown wire. Red plugs in on opposite side directly across.

the problem is the short usb cable that connect to the black box. The connector is so fragile. The wires that were soddered to the male connector has failed. Only the green and white wire are barely hanging on.

If you bought your shifter less than 1 year ago....submit a ticket at www.techaffliction.com for a warranty repair.

If past warranty, I'm pretty sure Paul will help out though I can't speak as to charges or anything.

The G920 H-shifter doesn't show as a seperate option in your drop down boxes. It just shows as the keyboard + logitech G920 Driveing Force Racing Wheel USB. As for the megashifter I'm not sure, I use a different skrs type knob that shows as Arduino Micro in the drop downs.

So it's at the shifter end of the heavy 3 foot or so cable that connects to the black box that the USB cable plugs into? If so you might be best off sending it to TechAffliction for repair.

Are you describing a bad USB cable or the end that connects from enclosure box to the shift knob?

If it's a bad USB cable, we can ship you another or you can use any USB cable that's made for an android phone. If it's the end that connects the enclosure to the shift knob, we can replace that entire cable with enclosure. That end isn't soldered, it's crimped.

I'd suggest mailing the shift knob back to us for repair.

Thanks, sorry for the delayed response. I was away. Its the small cable connecting the box to the pc. The android looking cable. I have a bunch and will try using my own.
