In cabin look left/right not working
So I decided to take my truck for a drive today after being away for a while and got to my first intersection. Like a good driver, I wanted to check both directions before proceeding only to find I couldn't look left or right. Natural I assume I may have changed the key mappings so I checked there, then tried the mouse (no luck there), rebooted the game, removed all the mods (so that’s what this game looks like), rebooted my computer, ran the file verification and still I can't look left or right....I'm on the latest patch anyone know a fix?

Just to be clear, you checked the keybinds and the keys it showed there didn't work?

First thing I would check is to press the num lock key and try again, if you're using the default number pad keys.

Have you unassigned those buttons and then assign them again? Sometimes even though buttons may be assigned they may not work and need to be assigned again to get them functioning again. This will often happen if you have not played for a while and begin to play again.

Start a new profile and check behaviour - or:

%USERPROFILE/Documents/American Truck Simulator/Profiles/<profileID>/controls.sii

Delete that file and check behaviour. Be aware this will remove any modifications you've made to your keyboard/controller bindings.

By default the look left and right buttons for me are the numbers 4 and 6 on the keypad. Number 5 returns the view to front(make sure num lock is on).

You can also use your mouse to look left and right.

Wow, ok. Did you happen to try with a new profile or just the file deletion? If not then try the new profile and see what you see.

(BTW un/reinstall is unlikely to help in this case - unless the problem is being caused by a game corruption issue - as the profiles are untouched by the process and so any profile configuration issues will remain.)

It really kinda sounds like head-tracking is enabled. Do you have a headtracking device connected? If the h/t device is active it sequesters the whole viewport control subsystem and so both key and mouse-axis view control is locked out (as you describe).

I do not have a headtracker....Copying the profile works until I restart the game

What controller are you using? Make sure it is plugged into a USB2 port and not a USB3 port or a USB-hub.

I'm using the G29 however, even with mouse and keyboard the issue continues

I would suggest you try in the game options to "Reset to Default" Sections(gameplay/interface/keys and buttons/controls) YES this is a nuisance if you have assigned a lot of things to specific keystrokes... but it also will FIX anything that has been changed back to the original game keystroke
settings.
