How fast do you maniacs drive?
I saw in some other threads people expressed dislike at the 55 mph speed limit of California. It made me wonder what speed you all prefer to drive at?

I try to keep it to 55-60 regardless of state because it takes so long to brake and some of the lanes ending, or stop lights, or whatever come up with not a lot of warning. I like to just have slow peaceful drives.

I stick to the speed limits. The game gives plenty of time to make deliveries and I have never seen the sense to drive faster. Like you, I enjoy the relaxed drives.

Never fast enough, well you asked :).

As fast as my truck can actually go on any given road. I know ATS and ETS2 are simulators but to me they are "video games" before they're simulators, so full throttle everywhere is the only answer to speed limits :P

sticking to the speed limits on both ETS2 and ATS, however i can go faster but that requires i learn the limits of the vehicles and from that it is a trivial matter when to be at the right speed and not to be.

I 'play' simulators for the immersion factor, so I tend to follow the 'rules of the road' and that includes the speed limits.
I have broken a few speed limits recently, driving the Skoda mod, but that was mainly because I just wasn't used to it's rather peppy acceleration... lol

I bet if you 'speed demons' had to live your lives as fast as you like to drive in this simulator, you'd all be dead in less than a week... lol
Good thing you don't have to though, I actually like some of ya, even if you are kinda wierd... :steamhappy:

I don't stray far from the speed limits. I do like California driving and its speed limit: Stay Alive At 55! The real treat to California driving is that there's maybe a tenth of what the traffic is like in real life, so that makes cruising sweet. Until SCS started to really improve their scenery, I appreciated what Cali had to offer. Now I still like it but wish the devs would make another pass to improve some of the older looking stuff, this despite their last efforts to improve the Golden State.
Regular Cargo :
California - 55-59 mph Highway, 30-35 mph city
Nevada - 30-35 mph City, 70-75 mph Two lane highway, 65-80 4-6 lane highway
Arizona - 25-30 mph City, 65-79 mph Highway
New Mexico - 30-45 mph depending on City speed limit, 45-80 depending on Highway speed limit.

Oversized Cargo :
California - 55-59mph Highway, 30-35 mph City
Nevada - 30-35 mph City, 60-70 mph Two lane highway, 65-70 mph 4-6 lane highway
Arizona - 25-30 mph City, 65 mph Highway
New Mexico - 25-45 depending on City speed limit, 45-65 depending on two lane highway speed limit, 65 mph on 4-6 lane highways.

Good u brought that up actually, i respect the traffic rules in real as in simulator games, if i have to rush in a game, i feel that i ain't enjoying it anymore, i drive using cruise control most of the time, one weird thing though even though i unchecked the speed limiter option, i still can't drive any faster then 65 m/hr when trailer coupled uncoupled yes i can go harder but soon i have a trailer on, there is the 65 again lol so even if i wanted to drive faster i'm simply not able too lol...
Machine Elf Feb 22, 2018 @ 5:22pm
i like to see my truck top speed without a trailer..after that i usually go within speed limits.. -)

I follow the speed limit though if i'm gonna be late for a delivery (which is never), i go at the top speed of my truck at 105 mph

This limit is forced when taking External Contracts. Freight Market jobs wont be limited if the options is disabled.

Generally, I keep to the speed limit. It’s more relaxing just chillin’ and drivin’.
