It's all wrong, when I'm using my PC monitor my native resolution is 2560x1440 Hz and that's why the game minimizes to task bar, and you only can hear the sound.
Edit: T.V. are "Not" computer monitors. Creates a lot of conflicts. Plenty of How To Snake Oil on the web and YT how to use a T.V. for a monitor is "B.S"... Projectors are a different subject for some simulation. "Best" 4 Flight Simulaytor X or Steam Version FSX.
Are you using a HDMI Cable from the GPU to the Monitor?
Example a HDMI Cable. 60 Hz Native will run at 30 Hz. HDMI cable cut the refresh rate in half. "Ctritical) CK GPU specifations and Monitor specification) Need to use a Display Port to Display Port Male for 1.4 "if supported". FIBBR DP to DP Cable VESA DP8K8K Certified Cable. Critical make sure you purchase a certified cable. Not all cables are created equal. 8K @ 60hz or 4K @ 144Hz. These are "Not" cheap cables you get what you pay for. B Carefull of the snake oil pit. Available on Amazon.
Personally use the Infinnet Cable have never had issues. Sound works with out any other RCA sound cables connected 4 (Monitor Speakers) if you use the monitor speakers (I Dont)..
Still need to flush the GPU driver and do a clean install the cable could be creating issues as well.
Correct "Bloatware".
Geforce Experience clearly thinks I want to use my Tv when it wants to optimize.
This is what I found in game log.
00:03:30.576 : g_mode dx9 3840 2160 1 0
00:03:31.362 : [gfx] Trying to set 3840x2160 30Hz (fullscreen)
00:03:32.996 : [dx9] SLI not found.
00:03:32.996 : [dx9] Stereo fully allowed.
00:03:32.996 : [dx9] Unable to initialize stereo (-140), the stereo driver might be not installed
00:03:32.996 : [dx9] D3D9 device sucessfully created.
Try this for the HDMI Cable:
1. Right Click Desk Top select Nvidia Control Panel.
Edit: 2. Select in the Left column Display/Change Resolution.
4. Look at the refresh rate. If it shows 60Hz change to 30Hz with a HDMI cable. If not set the resolution for the monitor to native resolution. ("Not All Monitors Will Run At 30Hz Refresh Rate") May be your issue with a HDMI Cable.
5. In ATS/Settings/Graphics set the settings to the native resolution and refresh rate setting in Nvidia Control Panel.
suggest you replace the HDMI cable "your choice". If you have a Dual Link DVI Cable I would use it instead of the HDMI Cable. If Not suggest you get a certified Display Pot to Display Port Cable "Critical" make sure the cable is certified will run the resolution of the monitor. 8K @ 60hz or 4K @ 144Hz.
1. After the cable is installed recommend need to Flush the graphics driver and do a clean install for the graphics driver. Procedure listed above. Then do 2 and 3.
2. Right click the desk top select Nvidia Control Panel/Change Resolution set it to the Monitor Native Resolution and refresh rate.
3. In ATS/Settings/Graphics set the graphics settings to the native resolution same settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.
Because I don't really need a setup with a dual monitor, I decided to remove the Q7c HDMI connection with my 1080 TI.
This was sufficient to solve the problem.
Thank you for your advice and if I maybe make a new connection in the future I will certainly take that into account.
An additional positive effect of this intervention is that in windowed mode my fps is back to 60 instead of 30/40 Vsync on . (PC monitor)
Once again thanks for the advice LarryA, without it I would never have found the problem.
Glad you got it worked out. Had the same issue 3 years ago with a HDMI cable with Flight Simulator X. Big learning curve on figuring out the solution.
Thank You And Have A Great Day.
