ATS -- Invisible Traffic Signals...??
I've just recently gotten back into ATS after a bit of a hiatus, and I'm noticing something of a recurring problem, no matter the state I'm in. I'll start passing through a town, and though I'll see the warning signs for an approaching signaled intersection, when I arrive at said intersection, there is no signal there. The traffic will be going mainly one direction, with intermittent intrusions from the cross traffic. You can clearly see from the behavior of the AI vehicles that THEY know what's going on, but you're left guessing and trying to get through without hitting anyone. I narrowly avoided hitting three cars at the same intersection because they kept jumping out in front of me.

This is crazy! Is anyone else having this issue? Is this a known bug? Or do the devs need to be alerted to this? Or is there something in the settings I can check to make sure it's not just me?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks. Good lord, what a bug!

No, it's not "all of us". I've not seen any intersections in ATS where the traffic appears to be waiting on light cycles and lights are not present.

Sounds more like you're running a (now incompatible) "longer yellow light" mod or similar. That kind of mod has caused traffic lights to vanish in the more recent updates of the game.

I'll look into that as well, Ryu. Thanks for the input.

I'm encountering this in Gillette, Wyoming.

1) I'm not using the 'longer yellow lights' mod.
2) I've already re-verified the integrity of the gaming files.

Create a new profile and don't add any mods and see if it happens.

It's always mod related.

I just had the same occurrence in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Mod problem.

When signal lights are missing in game it's usually a "Semaphore" related issue in the .def files of a mod, meaning it's more than likely related to a truck mod, seen it happen with some truck mods. Look at the game.log.txt and see if there are any "semaphore" warnings in the log and it should point to the mod causing the issue.

I've also encountered a few intersections where there's no stop sign but a line across the road as if there is a stop sign there. I got hit by a car at night one time because of it.

Then the missing delivery icons that still don't display until after you drive by them.

Speed limits on short off ramps labeled the same as the highway speed.

NPC cars basically stop before turning into a highway gas station. Traffic ramming into your trailer while entering the highway...

Grass in the highway... and bushes on the road... I mean the list is huge but they never seem to fix any of them.

SCS hasn't bothered to play test their own game, or double check their work, I guess.

I've run into far fewer issues with Euro Truck.

You do know that instead of complaining here you could do the much more productive thing of reporting these bugs, right?
And I've seen them fix a lot of bugs, if people bother to report them, that is.

The only time I ever ran into this issue, (disappearing traffic lights) it was related to a modded truck.
