It used to be easy to find interviews where Pavel has spoken on subjects but because he does more interviews now including live streams it is much more difficult to pin down which interview he has spoken on certain subjects in detail. I know he gave an in-depth talk about it in one of his interviews but I can't remember which one. However, I know Squirrel asked about it in this interview.

If you want more information then I suggest you google the live stream interviews SCS has done and watch them.
Just to add: SCS has been expanding it's workforce to be able to release content for ATS and ETS2 quicker. That is what players of both games have been demanding. Having the game on console would require employing more people again so I doubt very much if it will happen in the near future even if there is demand.
It would run fine. The recommended hardware specs for both of these games is much lower than the hardware specs for both current gen consoles.
Also porting to XBox One would be significantly easier than to PS4 because XBox One runs on a stripped down version of windows 10.
very very few titles take the trouble of making mods possible on consoles, its a hassle , either
with sony or microsoft.
i dont see this title going to console.
There is way too much work ahead for SCS in both games to even consider the notion, then plus the added costs that Twin Shadow mentioned. Moving to console will be a very huge mistake.
