WOW! Judgemental much? Yes, there are MANY reasons why someone might want to play this like a "racing game", but I will only give you four:
1) qaqww2 paid for the game, they can play it anyway they want to.
2) It might be - heaven forbid - FUN to go real fast.
3) Smokey and the Bandit
4) You said to not play ATS like a racing game. That alone makes me want to go FASTER.
qaqww2 didn't mention anything about racing, but so what if they did? Who are you to tell someone how to play a game that they paid for?
qaqww2, I get good results with my Peterbilt 579 day cab with midlift. I have no idea what the top speed is, but it handles like a Corvette in city traffic. I have the infractions to prove it.
Edit: SCS, as a Canadian who would love to see British Columbia in the game (en route to Alaska), perhaps Utah and the Bonneville Salt Flats should be added first. Just a casual suggestion.
1.Firstly this isent a racing game, yes there is a racingtrack in the game for truckracing
2. The point with this game is too simulate a life as a trucker, wich requires you too follow the trafficrules. Plus there are police in the game ,and they will give you a speedticket.
3.Smokey and the bandit is just a movie, if you did that in real life you would be arrested.
4Seems like you and OP should play GTA5 instead, because there is trucks in that game, there are no traffic rules there either. So you can go completly madman if you want too.
PS i dont think SCS ever will implent the Bonneville Salt flats, since it isent relevant for a truck sim game. Then you should rather check out Crew1\2, because those games have a big USA map. Atleast i know they have Bonneville Salt flats in it, you can have dragraces etc.
That is determined by the load you are hauling unless you just want to bobtail.
You will not see a notable difference with the various 600 hp and 625 hp C15 the 389 and W900 have availaible, as they all share the same torque.
it could actually be tested, and to see if truck weight has an impact (W900 are much heavier than a T680 for exemple, IRL. Could be checked with the scales in game in some service station (weight each truck bobtail)
Which truck you eventually choose is mostly driven by :
1- Personnal preference (some people cannot stand the look of the highway truck, and will always go for "classical" 389 and W900 - or the aestethic option/paint availaible
2-Visibility/Maneuverability (if you like both of those, don't go with a W900, by far the longest frame and harshest dead angle in front of the nose)
3-dashboard setup (its a big one for me - for exemple I can't stand the T680 due to where the fuel gauge is)
For the rest, weither you prefer the allison automatic, eaton 18 speed with retarder, etc, they all offer the same choices and performance, if there is a difference, its very very very hard to notice.
