You can also map these to other keys as you wish....once you get used to it, they are far better than using a mouse.
The 920 is super rough in its force feedback and it has a dead zone for force feedback when centered. They have issues with calibration and some wheels actually slowly creep off center and require mechanical fixes. I am unfamiliar with the quality of Thrustmaster's leather wheel version, but that's an option. I bought mine at release and paid a pretty penny, but if you can find one for cheaper than the $390 USD I paid for mine....
As an aside, check out Thrustmaster's TH8A H-pattern shifter. It is pricey, but is good quality. It can fit shifter mods for trucking, as well!
EDIT: Spelling
Same here. My setup is a T150 wheel, T3PA pedals and SHH Shifter.
It's not that difficult to steer with one hand if you need to look around while turning. Only time it can get a bit busy is when trying to manually shift at the same time, but I can usually time it so I don't have to look around in the middle of a shift. The automatic panning option in the game is also nice, letting you look in the direction you're turning.
My T150 wheel also has a D-pad which I use sometimes, especially when just driving along the highway. Plus I have D-pad Up assigned to center the view.
This is what I use except I use the hat clip which attaches on the peak of a baseball cap. An absolute game changer.

Thanks both, I had considered TrackIR and may give it a go. I've recently tried out the Tobii eye tracker as an alternative but found it a bit too unresponsive for my liking, plus trying to set up the software and configure it was such a hassle, not to mention trying to get ATS working again after uninstalling it!
Thanks all of you for these comments, I was hoping to do something that didn't require using the mouse or keyboard to keep the realism as high as possible.
On the subject of the G920, I've tried one out and I think your comments are spot on - it feels like a nice sturdy piece of kit, but the FF in ATS just doesn't seem to work properly (in ATS at least) so it's been returned for now.
Same, except for middle mouse click instead of left.
