Where Did You Start Your First Garage?
Mine was in Redding CA, then I realized that it was putting a real limitation on the jobs market. Being so far north all I could do was fairly local runs until I could put some points into Long distance skill. I finally got down to Bakersfield and did some runs in that area. Saved enough to purchase a 3 stall garage and upgrade it to a 5 stall and got rid of the Redding garage.

Bought a second truck and hired a driver and we're both operating from the new garage. I intend to buy 4 more trucks and hire additional drivers. Then I will buy 3 stall garages in Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico, get trucks and drivers working out of those. Then I'm just going to take my truck and drive every road and find every location on the map while my employees rake in the bucks. As new states are added I'll do the same in each of them.

Yup, sounds like a plan!

Started in Fresno, which was picked out by the game. In turn it lead me to dispise Bakersfield as most of my trips passed though there and could not get though without incuring a fine with other vehicles jumping the light and hitting me, more so when hauling heavy loads. Thankfully Washington changed all that and Bakersfield is no longer a central hub in all my routes.

In every profile I have had and I have had many I always have my starting garage in Elko. It has it's own short entry road and on exiting it has it's own traffic light. There is a Kenworth dealership with a repair shop a short distance away which I drive past to activate the dealership when doing my second delivery. I always choose Peterbilt as my preferred truck so that means I then have 2 different truck dealerships in the game from the start. There are plenty of jobs and I just love the area and have always had it as my main garage since I started playing the game the day the game was released.

Bakersfield originally when the game was released. Then moved to Los Angeles and stayed their for a while. Moved to Phoenix when New Mexico was released (bit more central for me and more jobs). Current home is Medford. Like working in Oregon and Washington at the moment.

San Francisco. Big mistake as it can be a bit of a nightmare getting out of there.

My very first profile was in Fresno. Mostly because I grew up there and was impressed with how driving down good ol Highway 99 made me homesick. Back then ATS had only California and Nevada.
These days, I'll start a new profile in any state with a garage located near the center of the state or, Elko, NV.

Yeah. Exactly the same reasons I start profiles in Elko quite a bit. :steamhappy:

I started in Flagstaff since I had recently been there IRL and liked it, but it wasn’t a great location for jobs in the game. I eventually moved to Las Vegas in order to be more centrally located in the overall map, and after the release of Washington, I moved to Seattle to be near the logging jobs.

Los Angeles. Started playing as soon as ATS came out, and my HQ is still in LA.

I liked the license plate of Arizona the most so I picked Phoenix Arizona as my hometown.

Originally San Fransisco. Then when NM came out I moved to Las Vegas. The next move was Reno which is where I still am.

In this game the Home garage means nothing really. You just travel from town to town taking the jobs you want, you never head home unless you are lucky enough to get a job you want that is going there.
