Fps drop
Hello,I downloaded this game 2 days ago and everything was fine but now I've noticed fps drops. It only goes from 60 to 50-49 but it feels like it's going way lower, the games stops for a milisecond or so but it's noticeable and annoying. Vsync is off, game is on ultra settings and my specs are:i7-8750h@2.2ghz,gtx 1060 6 gb,16 gb ddr4 ram and my temps are always around 50. Is it just the game? Because on CS:GO ultra i'm getting 150-270 fps with no drop exept when i open the msi overlay (goes to 20 for some reason but anyways i aint playing while using the overlay,so doesn't matter)

How many mirrors are you using? More mirrors, more rendering, less fps.... Lose the hood mirrors and the mirror on the right hand door (I never use it anyway) and see if that helps

Scaling at 400%? Knock it back to 300%

Uncheck MLAA.... Or something like that.... Someone help me out here!

Do these 3 things to start and see if you make any gains

Scailing at 400%? You dont even need AA at that %. that should increase a good 10-15fps in most occasions

Turn off hyper-threading.

Yes, it is the game, it does not run well on DX9. The current beta has their implementation of DX11 and it is night and day.

Don't download it just yet, the update from today caused some issues with fullscreen but they should have another update tomorrow to resolve it. Try it after that and you will see what the game really is capable of on that hardware.

I unchecked MLAA and nothing, and scaling is already at 300%.I have hood mirrors but I mean, that's one of the things that makes a truck look nice.

Yeah but as another poster said using them does cause a drop in fps. This game is much more cpu intensive vs cs:go.

What do you have the mirror quality set at? I always set mine to Medium on all three settings. I don't use hood mirrors though. I get a solid 60fps on the highways and 50-60fps in the cities. I've got an AMD Ryzen 8 core, RX570 4gb, and 32gb of RAM. I think I turned MLAA off in game and used my video card software for that. Also, you can try turning off grass density and if you can stand it, turn the reflection quality to medium. Chrome won't be as shiny but that should definitely help the FPS numbers, at least until they get DX11 working.

It's funny though, on my other profile where I own all of the garages and have over 100 drivers, I can hardly get over 40fps. I assume it's because of all the extras.

You aare limited by your slow CPU.
Robinicus May 29, 2019 @ 8:32am
These comments about the CPU being the issue are not accurate; there are several posts here I shared with data about the actual CPU loading when experiencing slowdown and stutter that simply do not support this claim. Max from SCS has also stated on the forum that the limitation is their ability to use the CPU with DX9 which they refer to as CPU bottlenecking; it does not mean that the CPUs are too slow causing bottlenecking.

I had these same issues on both my Ryzen 2700X/RTX 2080 rig and my i9-9820X/RTX 2080Ti rig running in DX9 and clearly neither of these CPUs are going to be a bottleneck due to their speed.

There are more details with data in this thread in case you are curious https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=181&t=270503

These two FPS logs will show you FPS on DX9 vs DX11 on the 2700X rig

The DX11 log is only going over the same terrain that caused the horrible DX9 performance at the end of that log which is why it is so much shorter of a drive.

Ok, so when are they going to release the dx11 update?

No, I saw gameplay videos on the exact laptop I have and it can run most games at medium, high or max settings at 60+ fps

Not sure, it is still in beta but the fullscreen fix came out today

When I ran the game yesterday, it was for the first time in a week, and I experienced very bad stutter. Only change to my gaming rig is an update of the nVIDIA driver to the newest version. Any comments on this?
Robinicus May 31, 2019 @ 9:14am
Are you talking about the beta or 1.34?

The game is terribly optimized, high end system have a really bad time keeping stable fps. T
those micro freezes are called STUTTERING, and you need to ENABLE vsync to get rid of em. BUT you need to enable VSYNC in your videocard, not the game. The vsync on the game should be disabled. But keep in mind, you only do this if you have stutter or tearing like in your case. If not, vsync is a terrible idea. In any videogame.

DISABLE Antialiasing in the game. If you using 400% renderscale, you dont need it and activating it will make things far worst , even visually speaking. If you really want to have antialiasing, what you need to do is to activate it on your videocard, not the game, and use nvidia inspector (if you have an nvidia card) to tweak the game settings. More info in the official forums of SCS.

The game is badly optimized generally speaking, its very unstable and in the moment there is a slilghty over load on graphics, the game will start dropping fps or stuttering badly. There is not a thing we can do until the devs decide to start optimizing the game engine. Nowadays the game is pretty stable, but i remember versions 1.2x, that was a pure pain.

There are many things you can do to achieve better performance, like tweaking the config file, using some launch parameters, and other things (tweaks that are not available in the game options or other places), but this is not the place to ask because its extensive research.

Why people keep posting and asking on steam forums about these things? i dont get it.

Go to the OFFICIAL forums of SCS and ask there. There are many many posts about performance and related. Heck did you even bother to make a search on google? lol.

Latest version of the game 1.35 already have DX11 support you just need to change the parameter in the config file to "DX11". It is still beta, so my recommendation will be to wait until they launch the official 1.35 with official DX11 support.

But remember, it doesnt matter how strong your pc is, talking about this game it doesnt matter. Older computers have better times running this game that newer ones.
