How will we get to Washington?
Sorry if this question is too common - I didn't find an answer in a minute of Google searching.
If a player didn't have Oregon, is it known yet how they would get to Washington? I read the SCS Blog on confirming Washington as the next state (I know that isn't new or anything) and it didn't say how they were planning to fill this map gap. I know in ETS2 the ferry system does a good job skipping territory, so will there be a cargo train or something? Or just teleportation points at the borders?

In version 1.35 you have the ability to buy garages without actually visiting them.

This is more than likely how us, the players, will not have any DLC dependency on states.

Say you don't own Oregon but you buy Washington. You can buy the garages in Washington and then quick travel yourself to a said garage.

Job selection, most likely though will limit you to just that state. You won't be able to take a job that delivers to say Arizona or from Arizona to Washington.

Why would you want Washington without Oregon?

It's more of a hypothetical than anything. I'm just wondering how SCS plans to tackle this.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Probably just a train hop. But I don't know the specifics on what SCS is going to do to connect CA with WA. But SCS do have plans in place already for people who do not wish to purchase Oregon and instead want to go straight for Washington.

[edit] I got ninja'd, but if I recall, you can't teleport via garages while on a job, so it'd have to be outside of a job most likely.

Ferry wont help with inland states though.

"Hey, how'd you get to Colorado?"
"Oh i took the ferry from Los Angeles."
"???"

That ferry is on WA-20, it dosen't leave the state. Do not make up lies.

It goes to vancouver island right? so we might see a bit of canada (same that we have a bit of idaho with oregon dlc).

I don't think a ferry or a train will connect states with a gap in between, especially if a weirdo buys all western and easter states and leaves north dakota to texas out. It will only work with online garage purchase, i guess!

if someone doesn't own Oregon thay will probably just add a Ferry system along the west ocean to get from washington to california

You CANNOT fast travel to garages whilst you are on a job (because that is blatantly cheating) and so SCS ARE NOT going to allow people to travel between non-connected DLC's this way. they will find a way to connect non-connected states that also properly simulates the passing of time for the job you are doing.

they ARE putting a ferry connection between Washintgon and California so that people who don't have or want Oregon are not forced to buy it (that is what the previously mentioned achievement is for).

For travelling between inland states where the player DOES NOT own the intervening DLC states (for example going from the base map to, say, North Dakota) SCS may decide to utilise the rail freight yards on the map as fast travel portals just like the channel tunnel in ETS2.

Just cause I was curious, I disabled the arizona DLC and started a new profile and this is what I see, it doesn't have a way to get across
