The brakes and throttle need gradual input, not clicks, Use one of the joysticks.

You'll have to manually re-map your controller settings again. After you remap the controller to the settings that you like you'll have to do this to keep from losing your settings in the future. This is how I do it but others may have ideas that may be more helpful but this works for me.

Like I said after you the controller settings to your liking, test to make sure everything is setup the way you want, once you're satisfied save the game and exit. Go to your Documents folder which should look similar to this C:\Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\Documents\American Truck Simulator.

Once here click on profiles and a folder with a long list numbers and letters, click on that folder. Look for a file called controls.sii this file contains all the info to your controller settings. Make a backup of this file. I always rename it to controls.sii.backup so I'll know it's a backup with the correct settings. If you ever lose your controller settings just delete the main controls.sii and rename the control.sii.backup to control.sii so your configuration stays intact. You have to do all of this while not running the game. Stat the game up again and it may complain that your controller needs to be detected but click on detect and if everything worked right you shouldn't lose your settings. It's worked for me as I've had to do this 4 times and I got tired of remapping my controller settings.

This works whether you have a ps3/4 controller, wired or wireless or bluetooth and the same applies if you have an Xbox 360/One controller as I have all of these controllers and it works perfectly regardless of which one I use. I know it was long winded but at least it should help you and others in the future from having to re-map everytime. :steamhappy:
