If you buy Washignton DLC but not Oregon then there will be no connection and you must operate from a bought garage there i think.
Yep, you'll need to buy a garage(s) in the unconnected states in order to fast-travel into/between the non-contiguous map areas.
Personally think that this was short-sighted of SCS. they could have turned the rail freight depots into travel portals (just like the ferry/channel tunnel travel portals in ETS2) and this would have allowed travel between states. This would also make it easier for disabled gamers in the future.
by the time the map is finally finished you will be looking at 4-5 hours real-time to drive from California to New York. disabled gamers may not be able to manage that sort of gaming in one stint and so utilise rail freight depots as travel portals could enable a cargo job to go from California to New York in a fraction of that time in reality but still maintain appropriate in-game delivery time
The time taken on a trip is irrelevant; if people only want to play for an hour they move forward a step and pick-up where they left off the next time they play, just like it is now.
No, you don't need Going East in order to get to Beyond the Baltic Sea. They added a ferry route from Germany to Finland.
More than likely. However, if there is no direct connection then you will be able to buy garage remotely and use Fast Travel to get there. Just no jobs going to or from the non-contiguous area. Just like if you owned Washington and not Oregon.
So again, you won't need to own Going East. :)
Might also be simple road mods available to connect the locatuons the player doesn't own
I have all the DLC maps for ATS and ETS2 so far so no issues here :) these games are awesome
