Long Nose or Short Nose?
Not a big fan of cabovers, which is why I don't really plat ETS2 anymore. However, I do prefer the more "compact" designs of the shorter nose on trucks such as the T680 and the 579; the more "modern trucks" if you will. The long nose trucks such as the W900 look cool, but I've found it can be a real challenge to back them up in game and don't even want to imagine it in real life. Hell, even just pulling into some of these areas is next to impossible without taking out a sign or hitting the curb with the trailer!

It's not uncommon in ATS to alley dock in a small yard and there just so happens to be a parked trailer right in your way. The alley dock yards are tiny with barely enough room to maneuver, which can present a tough challenge...especially when you have to blind side reverse.

I actually have a video of just such a thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjcoEswPO-g&t=1558s

So, just for the simplistic reason of convenience, I prefer the short nose myself.

You could have made a u-turn at the end of the area.
Short or log hood, it's always easier if the 4 ways are off.

Long nose all the time; it gives me a better sense of depth and it matches my stereotypical idea of a "truly American" truck. I seldom select hard parking, so maneuverability is not a factor in my choice.

I prefer long nose Australian-style trucks like the Kenworth T908 but then I also really like the K200 COE (Cab Over Engine) rigs.

I prefer cabovers, but then I am a Scania R series fan. :steamhappy:

I gave all of the long nose trucks a try, and they just weren't for me. I like the extra visibility that comes with the shorter nose and overall the Cascadia feels the best to me even with the long wheel base chassis.

When I first started ATS I tried all the various options by doing quick jobs. What I discovered is that I like the short wheelbase trucks in the freight yard, but prefer the long wheelbase trucks on the interstate highways.
