I think there's a tunnel with the Bay Bridge as well. You know this bridge because it also has a section that is double-decked.
Golden Gate Bridge is, as Big T57 said, going north from San Francisco and directly towards San Rafael. There's a third bridge that goes to San Rafael from the east - this is also not the Golden Gate. Golden Gate is the only one that runs directly north and south.
I was looking at the I80 highway bridge not the Golden Gate Bridge. I checked Highway 101 and the bridge was the right colour. :)
Thanks,
BugattiBreno
When the game is at a 1:20 scale you can't expect towns to be what they look like IRL, thats just too much to ask...Could SCS have added a little more detail? Sure...but is it really necessary to fault them for it? Not really.
With the textures, no one's perfect...If you think you could do better, maybe you should send them a sample of what they could look like.
Now the trucks, oh the trucks...there is a perfectly good reason we only have the trucks we have in the game...copyright. It takes time for SCS to get approval from truck companies like Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, International, etc...the main reason being that companies are picky about how their trucks look in the game and are touchy when it comes to allowing their brand name in the game...look at ETS2 for example...a long time before now, like 2-3 years, the Mercedes comany wasn't called Mercedes, it was called Majestic...the reason being that Mercedes was picky about their name being in the game...while you could tell that the trucks were Mercedes trucks, the name was just not allowed to be used.
Finally, the slow development. When it comes to development, it takes time...SCS is now working on two games at the same time and their team isn't exactly big enough to handle the production of new things at the rate they used to...ETS2 has been going as strong as it has since the ATS release because they have put more time and effort into ETS2 so it only makes sense that the ETS2 team be bigger than the ATS team.
A final note...be happy with what SCS has provided for us in ATS, they are working their butts off trying to keep both games on par with eachother and they are still working on new stuff...for example, the Eugene road sign teaser in the New Mexico behind the scenes blog post...Based on what I've seen looking at the exit they made and google maps, they already have a good potion of Oregon done...so stop complaining about the slow development of ATS.
It's really hard to believe this thread. Maybe people should look at Google Maps before attacking the game developers for something that is correct. This game was released 2 years ago in February. Do you really think people wouldn't have noticed that a landmark like the Golden Gate Bridge was the wrong color?
There is a thing called the Internet and people, including SCS, has access to it. There are pictures, real satellite maps, and street level maps that people can use to see what other places look like.
DaveP01, it is apparent that you are upset because you bought a game, modified the code, and then blame the game developer for your actions to change the game you bought. It is not SCS's fault you modified your game. It's your fault.
You suggest that SCS should not update their game and then you state that SCS should listen to people and update their game. Which is it? Should the people who had crashes that were fixed by SCS in this latest update, not get those fixes just so you can not be inconvenienced because you modified the original code?
You go on to say that SCS needs to add more states. How can they add more states without updating the game? When they released New Mexico there were lots of people just like you screaming that the update broke their game because they were using incompatible map Mods. Are you willing to not have any new content, so those people aren't inconvenienced?
