Do your hired drivers work when you're offline?
I more than likley know the answer to this but I am curious as to I heard from friend of mine that his hired drivers earn him money even if he is not playing the game. I know in Euro Truck Simulator 2 it dosent work like that but I just wanted to make sure.

No, they don't. When you stop playing, time stops.

Your friend might have been referring to the MP mod where time on their servers never stops.

Yup, which is what breaks the economy in multiplayer mod, hire a bunch of drivers and leave the game for a week, come back to a ton of money...

You could park your truck and leave teh game running, then they'll continue :)

Thats what i thought, but from what he is saying this was all being done not on truckers MP, and since I havent been on ATS in a while it could have been this new thing I didnt know of but thanks for clearing it up.

If you are afk in the game, to they still work?

If the game clock is moving, you can assume the drivers are working.

But keep in mind that if your truck is stopped (which I'm guessing it will be when AFK) then likely time will be running at 1:3 scale not 1:20 scale so it may not be passing as quickly as you'd hoped.

Last I knew, which was admittedly a while ago, ATS didn't slow down when you stopped like ETS does.

Both games work the same in that regard.

I have come across one or two places where I've stopped at traffic lights and the time keeps moving at 1:20 speed but in general when you stop it slows to 1:3 - easy enough to test, just pull off the highway onto the shoulder, hit the parking brake and watch the clock.

True enough. I remember it happening when I did exactly that. I expected it to function like ETS, but when I got back a short time later half a day had gone and it was night outside.
