What's the best truck for heavy cargo?
Whats best truck for heavy cargo like 90,000lbs+ ? Going soon to buy one soon and likes to have a lot of power and can handle hill up roads without losing too much speed.

6x4 with the most horsepower and tourque you can get plus a transmission with 12+gears and retarder.

The older style trucks both have a 625 hp engine, whilst the more "fleet style" trucks only go up to 600 hp. Any truck will haul heavies, Alblight slowly. Mods van offer more power if you want to play 150,000 pound NASCAR.

Agree with Cadillac ATS (my previous answer was thinking this was ETS2 board).

Yeah seen mods like with 10,000hp but that's silly. But having 750hp like in ETS would be still nice

there are engine mods that give more engines to buy that range from 500hp up to 1500hp in the workshop

I still pull from the AI trucks when hauling heavy cargo, lol. :steammocking:

So long as you're running an 18-speed, about any truck will do it - though it might not be so much fun trying to haul the 120,000lb loads with the ISX-370 ;).

I routinely haul the heavy loads with a 450hp truck, though my actual heavy hauler runs a bigger donk. It really all depends on your tolerance for challenge.

I haul heavies with 425 hp and an 18 speed Roadranger just fine.

I’ve seen a caterpillar 3408 engine pack with power options ranging from 400 hp and 1200 ft-lbs of torque for the lowest end offering (3408A DI-T) all the way to a beastly 800 hp and 2600 ft-lbs of torque (3408E TA, 800 HP variant), that should be more than sufficient for heavy haulage, maybe a bit overkill depending on the transmission you pair it with.

TA = turbocharged and aftercooled
T = turbocharged
DI = direct injection

Nope, not at all you get stuck going up hill and sometimes going backwards.

Vanilla: 6x4 chassis, preferably long with the biggest tank you can buy. 600/605 hp engine, Eaton 18 speed and if you're gitting gud use it in sequential. Don't forget to take those corners reeeeaaaaly wide.

Nope, never have - at least not with the 2237Nm engines. Basement gears exist for a reason.
