How do you set a high idle in this game.
I am sick of having to rev the engine every time at around 1,000rpm. And would like to know if there is a way to set a high idle so I can get a cup of coffee and let the engine warm up while I have a chance to relax.

Why?
Is it stalling in neutral?

I imagine that you could alter that in the truck's sii file, but you'd have to do it for each truck that you owned that wasn't the same type.

I would do it. It would make warm up time easier on the engines because they are not idling so low

"Warming up" isn't a thing in the game though, air pressure is however personally it is extremely rare (unless there's a really tricky reverse spot and have to saw back and forth a lot).

In ETS2, my low air warning goes off all the time when coming into towns with a lot of turns before reaching my final delivery point.

I'm sure it has something to do with my brake settings, but they match ATS where I don't have this problem (Well, match as best as you can with a slider, it would be nice if players could enter exact numbers in a text box next to the slide).

Having the ability to upgrade the Air Compressor would be nice, its no where near realistic.

I don't think it's the brakes or the compressor, it has more to do with driver style. When I first started playing ATS I had that problem till I got used to the short street blocks and on/off ramps.

You just need to anticipate your distances better.

While there is not an in-game text box, you can change the value(s) manually in the config.cfg file(s).

That does make sense, I'm only starting to get into ETS2, under 20 hours on it, and those vehicles are completely different from what I'm used to in ATS.

I'll look into that, thanks! It'll be nice to verify that the settings are a match between both games.

For sure. And use the different braking systems available (retarder). Type of controller is likely a contributing factor too. I would imagine keyboard users have a much more difficult time managing air pressure.

I don't think that the air tank or compressor is that good to begin with or keep up with breaking in traffic. I think more realisim along with aditional add on's such as bigger air tanks would be great. But I don't feel like getting any more dlc for this game unless it is more real world like in terms of a simulator. I wan't to be able to have the option to fully maintain every part of my truck and worry about hydroplaining or skidding on black ice. I have seen mods where you can have the breaks lock up in this game along with the winter slippery winter mod.

I never have issues with air pressure in game. I used to have long time ago when I pumped brakes like an idiot.

But you cant jake in the city. And you constantly need to be rev matching.

I guess you're asking "is the game a proper simulator" and the answer is "no, it is not". Neither of those things are enforced in the game.

You can roleplay for sure, and indeed there are better physics mods out there. I only use the winter one (with obvs the winter mod) when feel like it. And it is slippery indeed...
