Is there a way to make the game clock run at real-world speed?
Is there a way to make the game clock run at real-world speed instead of the default sped-up clock?

Not as far as I know.

I discovered a console command that can reset time. g_set_time

It will only move the clock forward. So, if I show up to deliver a load at night and want daylight available to see clearly to back up the trailer, I could run the clock forward but get dinged with a late penalty.

The trouble is some delivery points are hard to see at night especially out on the road at construction sites. The game world does not provide good lighting in some scenarios.

If I am going to be doing jobs involving forest machinery in the woods, I want good lighting to work with. Most logging operations in America occur during daylight hours. The trailers don't provide backup illumination for nighttime also.

That command is for setting a certain time.

As for locations not having enough lighting....same thing happens in real life.

The game clock is tied to the scale of the map, since the map scale is 1/20th real size, the clock runs faster to keep time with the scale and the resulting travel time.

If the map scale was 1:1, then the clock would run as in real life with 1 second actually equaling 1 second in real life.

TL;DR - Sure, change the map scale and the clock will change as well.
Only problem is, the map scale cannot be changed...

There isn't. If you want to make daylight runs, you have to plan your trips during the day and sleep at night. The lighting is somewhat realistic in that you're not always going to have well lit streets and areas when you are making deliveries. That's part of the challenge.

Yes there *is* a way to change the time scale... however you'll need to use the editor to make a map mod to do it and it will, naturally, change the displayed distances accordingly (since these are tied together as the Capt. mentioned).

For example, if you change the time scale to 1:1, then the distances as displayed in-game will be reduced by a factor of 20:1 (these are the *actual* distances of the game's 3D world).

I used to do this myself pre New Mexico but I can't get the editor working for me anymore and can't be bothered continuing with trying to figure out why.

nonsense :steammocking: - To be fair, I'm sure you're talking about the actual distances as rendered in the game world, certainly you can't change that without remodelling the entire game world but you can change the *representative* scale however you like.
